Na The Vanilla Queen en The Switch die eerder in deze top 2000 voorkwamen, nu het derde nummer van Golden Earring. She Flies on Strange Wings is een nummer die in populariteit wat onderdoet van een aantal andere nummers van deze band, maar dat betekent niet dat deze minder goed is. Een heerlijke melodie, goede zang en heel mooi samenspel van de instrumenten. Weer een ijzersterk nummer van wat misschien wel de beste artiesten uit Nederland ooit zijn.

De allereerste single van pop/rockband L'Arc~en~Ciel dateert uit 1992. Het album, Dune, waar o.a. dit nummer op staat in album versie, werd onmiddelijk een succes en bereikte de 1e plaats op de Oricon indie lijst in 1993. Hierna bracht de band nog 10 andere albums uit, elk weer een succes. De zanger van L'Arc~en~Ciel, Hyde, naar verluid slechts 1.56 meter lang, heeft met zijn krachtige stem iedereen weten te verbazen. Alle vier de leden van de band zijn tevens songwriters en hebben eigen nummers voor L'Arc geschreven, maar in elk nummer, hoewel verschillend, is de unieke stijl van L'Arc~en~Ciel duidelijk aanwezig. Floods of Tears is misschien wel het nummer dat de stijl van de band het meest typeert. En tevens het begin van een prachtige en omvangrijke discografie.
