Grundtvig's Church (Danish: Grundtvigs Kirke) is located in the Bispebjerg district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is a rare example of expressionist church architecture. Due to its unusual appearance, it is one of the best known churches in the city.

The enormous structure is 29 m high and is 3.6 m wide at the base. Overlooking the river and the plains, it looks like the upper half of a gigantic, decorated Easter egg, with the spiral stairway winding around this monument, adding to its embellishment. It offers a magnificent breathtaking view of the city and the river Ganges, flowing nearby.
The spiral staircase was so designed, in order to facilitate the passage of the coolies, who had to carry grain-bags up one flight, deliver their load through a hole at the top, and descend the other stair.

Hé, da's raar, ik heb nooit geweten hoe dat meer eigenlijk heet. Eigenlijk dacht ik dat het gewoon Lake Ngorongoro zou zijn, maar op veel sites wordt aangeven dat het Lake Magadi is.

Maizena bedankt voor de info, ik had moeite met de exacte lokatie, vond ook de verwijzing naar rue de Garennes, heb wat foto's en filmpjes op youtube bekeken, dacht dat het net buiten de bebouwing lag
ben er overigens een jaar of 10 geleden geweest, toen zaten ze vooral in een park in de stad, met vnl. slaapzakken (geen hutjes)
