Research into the types of Michael Jackson plastic surgery procedures he is rumored to have gone through.
Michael Jackson was born on August 28, 1958 and is today one of the biggest music related celebrities, but also known for his history of plastic surgery procedures.
One of the earliest changes in Jackson's face, when he was in his 20s, were related to his nose, through a procedure called rhinoplasty, which was seemingly used to shape the bridge and the tip of the nose.
The shape of Michael's nose kept changing throughout his 20s to a narrower and narrower look, which, complemented with a permanent eyeliner tattoo around his eyes, made for a much more dramatic look.
Perhaps the most dramatic change in Michael Jackson's look came in 1987, when he emerged into the public much whiter skinned than previously.
The official explanation, which still stands to this date, is that Jackson has a medical condition called Vitiligo, which causes people of color to develop light patches of skin that lack pigment, thus the change.
There are, however, alternative, rumored explanations that have to do with plastic surgery procedures. For one, some of the available laser skin treatments and chemical peeling treatments have been associated with side effects that include lightening skin color in some cases.
After Michael Jackson turned 30 in the 90s, some dramatic changes to his appearance came apparent, including a chin reshaping procedure called mentoplasty, which is a procedure that aims at either reshaping the chin either through an implant or a reduction surgery on the chin bones.
As a result of those procedures, Michael's chin became more square and a dimple appeared on it. There was also an appearance of cheek implants to promote the dramatic change.
The nose reshaping procedures continued throughout the 90s, with rumors going about of a collapse of Michael's nose tip, which was the rumored reason why Jackson started wearing a mask in public.
As of 1999, the shape of Michael's jawline changed again, through another apparent mentoplasty operation, and this time the result was a much smaller jaw and smaller cheekbones to balance the new look.
In 2000, the jawline changed again, this time with a longer jaw. Also, there were hints of a facelift, as Michael turned 41 that year, and had noticeably tighter skin, especially around the eyes.
At the same time, the usually clean shaven look that Michael Jackson had turned into a goatee one, with a lot of facial hair suddenly appearing on his face. This led to rumors that the facial hair was done through hair transplantation.
In 2002 and 2003, the shape on Michael's nose seemed to change a couple of times, which many took as a sign as attempts to fix the work done in previous rounds of rhinoplasty. Some of the damage was apparent on public photos showing a damaged tip of Michaels nose.
In 2004, Dr. Werner Mang, a German plastic surgeon, was widely talked about in the news, as he was giving interviews on the surgery on Michael Jackson's nose tip, reshaping it with skin tissue taken elsewhere from the body, and rebalancing it to look normal.
Haters everywhere but I don't really care.
