SEGA will offer the three DLC packs for Valkyria Chronicles next Thursday, 16th April.

They'll cost GBP 3.19 / EUR 3.99 each, and we're double-checking whether all three will be offered at once; it's slightly unclear.

Making up one part of the DLC is the Hard EX Mode, in which players fight through the entire Imperial Army against tougher enemies, without the main tank Edelweiss.

There's also Edy's Mission, in which players become the titular heroine and defend a small village from overwhelming odds. Finally, Selvaria's Mission casts players as a young engineer called Johann and offers a taste of action from behind enemy lines.

Valkyria Chronicles - a pretty turn-based strategy RPG set in 1930s-inspired war-torn Europe - was released exclusively for PS3 last autumn. We rather liked it, too, and urged any fans of the genre to "pick it up without delay".

Assassin's Creed 2 Details From This Month's Game Informer

Seems some people are getting early copies of this month's issue of Game Informer. You know. The issue that has a ton of details on Assassin's Creed 2.

Provided, of course, that this is all correct (we haven't seen the magazine ourselves), here's some of the stuff you can expect from the sequel to one of 2007's biggest games:

- Your range of weapons has been greatly increased, with new armaments including two swords, two "smaller blades", a mace, spear and an axe.

- No more silly drownings, as Altair can now swim.

- As expected, Da Vinci's workshop features in the game (it's set in 1476), and yes, you'll be gliding around on those wings of his.

- The game stars real characters of the time, including Machiavelli and Florence's powerful Medici family

- There are now "16 unique mission types". And, thankfully, no more pickpocket or eavesdropping ones.

- Tracking down hidden flags will now net you in-game rewards, rather than a simple sense of self-satisfaction.

- Hidden objects (like flags in the first one) are there to uncover but this time if you track them down you will get in-game bonuses that make it worth your time.
- Items include, flags, statues, and gold coins and more that isnt mentioned.
- New enemy types with unique attitudes and weaknesses are present in the game. Archers are mentioned, as well as elite enemies, dagger wielders, "Brutish" armored troops with heavy armor and 2 handed swords and axes, and an intelligent halberd enemy will probe hiding places with their weapons if they think you're near by.
- While hiding in a hay bail you can assassinate people this time, but it may expose your position.
- You can still climb towers and ride horses
- The Lorendo de Medici assassination attempt is in the game.
- There is now a night and day sequence in the game.
- 240 people are working on this title.
