LOS ANGELES -- The city of Walnut says it has filed a lawsuit to stop the proposed construction of a professional football stadium in a neighboring Southern California city.
Walnut officials said in a statement Wednesday that the lawsuit accuses the city of Industry of approving the $800 million venue without sufficiently reviewing its environmental impact.
The Industry city council unanimously approved the plan last month as a way to try to lure an NFL team back to the Los Angeles area.
Industry is located about 15 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
Walnut fears the stadium could lead to traffic-clogged streets and rowdy fan behavior.
Industry city manager Kevin Radecki didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.

Breaking his public silence and speaking out for the first time since he was officially placed on the trading block, soon-to-be ex-Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler told Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com that he was “shocked” that the Broncos decided to give up on a potential reconciliation.
Ultimately, Cutler said he didn’t want to be traded in an article co-written by Alex Marvez.
“I was surprised they decided to trade me this soon,” Cutler said. “I didn’t want to get traded. This wasn’t me. They [The Broncos] had been going back and forth saying things, wanting me to be their quarterback and then they didn’t. I really didn’t want this. I love Denver. I really like my teammates. I didn’t want it to get this far.”
Cutler denied the Broncos’ claims that he didn’t respond to their repeated efforts to get in touch with him over the past 10 days, saying that he hasn’t heard from the team during that span.
According to Cutler, the first time he heard from the Broncos over that period of time was when they told him Tuesday that they had given up on any attempts for a compromise and would now actively attempt to trade him.
As for where Cutler will wind up, the quarterback said he thought that he will land in the NFC. He didn’t express a preference for his next NFL employer.
Citing a source, Glazer and Marvez reported that the Broncos want more than a first-round and a third-round draft pick in exchange for Cutler.
Glazer interviewed Cutler at a UFC Fight Night 18 card in Nashville, Tenn.
If UFC really wants to create some buzz, perhaps they could broker a no-holds-barred cage match between Cutler and Broncos coach Josh McDaniels. Just kidding.

Las ergens anders een verhaal dat de Chiefs misschien zouden gaan downtraden (met als kandidaat de Eagles die dan voor Monroe of Smith zouden gaan). Chiefs hebben de afgelopen weken inhouse workouts gehad met Brown (FSU), Kruger (Utah) en Barwin (Cincinnati). Maar ik kan me haast niet voorstellen dat als Curry nog on the board is dat de Chiefs dan gaan downtraden. Is hij wel weg, dan zou het wel een aannemelijk scenario kunnen zijn, zeker gezien het feit dat ze geen 2nd round pick hebben.

Tony Pauline, for SI.com, reports Boston College DT B.J. Raji had a positive drug test at the NFL Scouting Combine, according to sources. It is not known what drug caused the positive test but Raji tested positive for marijuana during his time at Boston College.

De caproom van de Broncos is ruim te noemen, aan het begin van het ofseason zaten ze in de top qua cap room. Weinig big splashes in FA, dus ik denk dat ze wel behoorlijk ruimte hebben.
Benieuwd wat de Broncos gaan doen, als Cutler eenmaal weg is. Mag Simms het proberen? Of wordt het toch een "vet for hire", zoals Garcia, en dan volgend jaar hopen op een top prospect...

Het is gewoon een kutpick en ik heb werkelijk geen idee wat Seattle gaat doen. Ze hebben wel een aantal needs maar die kunnen ze ook makkelijk invullen met een lagere pick.
