A new year begins and with it more secrets develop. Rufus and Lily go off together on a search for their son. Dan and Serena meet with each other and they both decide there are better off back together. Dan soon learns he shares a sibling brother with Serena and becomes ridden with guilt when Rufus asks him to let Lily tell Serena the news. Jenny decides to go back to school much to her dad's excitement. She is determined to start making a few changes at the school regarding the popular girls. Chuck's uncle Jack Bass (guest star Desmond Harrington) returns and tells Blair he will now take care of him, much to Blair's annoyance. Blair hints to Jack not to mention to Chuck that something had happened between them on New Year's.

Rufus and Lily looked for their son. At first they were told by the adoption agency that their 19-year-old son has made no effort to look for them and, after checking with his adoptive parents, they didn't want Rufus and Lily attempting to make any contact with him. Lily admitted to Rufus that she thought about their son every day since he was born. Then she told Rufus she was still in love with him and they went to bed together. Later the adoptive dad agreed to meet with them, secretly, without his wife's knowledge and told them that their son, Andrew had died in a sailing accident (this was indicated to be a possible lie, however).

Chuck attempts to sabotage Jack's position at his fathers company, but has difficulty. He goes to Lily for help, who agrees to help him in the hopes of having him return to live with her. Blair, Dan, and Serena await acceptance letters to Yale. Dan and Serena are accepted, but Blair is wait-listed. Serena learns that if she passes on Yale, Blair will be accepted. Blair, unaware Serena has been accepted to Yale, plots revenge on a new, young teacher who has given her a B. When Serena learns this, she reveals to Blair that she has passed on Yale, and Blair will be accepted.

Dan and Serena have trouble with Lily and Rufus's first public date. Lily discovers a way to take Jack's control of Bass Industries. She reveals to Chuck that she and Bart had been planning for her to adopt Chuck legally, and vice versa with her children, Serena and Eric. Bart had signed the papers, but Lily hadn't gotten around to it. By signing the papers she becomes Chuck's legal guardian and therefore head of Bass Industries. Angered by this, Jack attacks Lily in the ladies washroom and, being stoned, attempts to force himself on her. Chuck breaks down the door in time to save Lily, and Jack is taken away.

Meanwhile, Blair, discovering Ms Carr has decided to give her an A in return for her generous invitation to the opera, changes her mind about the prank she is pulling and rushes to meet her. Ms Carr has been waiting for an hour, after Blair gave her the wrong time in an effort to teach her a lesson. Seemingly accepting Blair's apology, she turns down a real offer of an opera ticket. Once Blair has left, she calls Constance Billard's headmistress to inform her of Blair's trickery.

The next day, Serena calls Dan but he ignores the call, and sees Ms Carr at his fathers gallery. Blair meets with the headmistress, and learns that Ms Carr has informed her of the prank. The headmistress informs Blair her acceptance to Yale is on hold, and she now has detention. Blair declares war, saying she will take her time and operate "under the radar".

Of het echt handig is weet ik ook niet maar normaal gesproken staat het plot op die plek en dat is al helemaal out dated dus zet ik er nu liever een 'previous on ... ' neer... is gewoon van de CW site gehaald.. ik heb het wat ingekort maar dat is in principe alles.. dus al te veel moeite was het niet

De jaarlijkse top 99 van AskMen.com is er trouwens weer, dit keer met 2 Gossip Girl actrices

Opvallend is dat Blake op 59 staat en Leighton op 54

Ik vind het prima zo trouwens maar had toch wel verwacht dat Blake het zou winnen

haha ja is altijd leuk als je zo'n actrices of acteurs ergens tegenkomt waar je het niet verwacht..dat had ik met Blair in Boston Public (2001).. zou je niet meteen zeggen van heeeej daar heb je Blair
