Bijvoorbeeld ‘Fremdkörper ... die’: in het Nederlands hebben we het, als we het er al over hebben, toch meestal over ‘het Fremdkörper’; ‘de Fremdkörper’ (de Duitse vervoeging wordt wel gebruikt) impliceert een meervoud. Het was dan ook logischer geweest dat hij, aangezien het Fremdkörper zinsonderwerp is, ernaar zou verwijzen met ‘dat’. Maar wat met name opvalt is het woord ‘beeldenbestormer’ – dat moet overduidelijk ‘beeldenstormer’ zijn. Hoe komt hij erbij?quote:

Mocht een meisje in dergelijke volzinnen spreken dan zou ik daar toch aardig geil van worden.
Ook het citaat dat ik aanhaalde, met de iteratief pointerende Locke, het slaat als een tang op een varken. Iteratief heeft tegenwoordig toch de connotatie van een wiskundige procedure (daar komt het woord ‘iteratie’ en ‘iteratief’ het meest voor); en suggereert daarmee enige mechanische starheid in Lockes handelen. Ook pointeren lijkt wat vergezocht. Je pointeert kanonnen; Locke had simpelweg wel ‘herhaaldelijk kunnen wijzen op’.
Zulk gebruik is duidelijk dikdoenerij. Nu is daar niet altijd iets mis mee… maar in het geval van Enait heeft het toch een wat hulpeloos karakter. Ook als je hem op TV of op de radio hoort wil hij wel eens vastlopen in zijn eigen verbalisme.
Daher iſt die Aufgabe nicht ſowohl, zu ſehn was noch Keiner geſehn hat, als, bei Dem, was Jeder ſieht, zu denken was noch Keiner gedacht hat.
Wat een pareltje is dit geworden.
