Ik denk dat we nu wel een aardige kans maken om de poule door te komen, maar we zijn er nog niet natuurlijk. Een belangrijk voordeel is dat Frankrijk en Italië ons straks niet met een gelijkspel in de laatste wedstrijd kunnen "naaien". Zelf hebben we volgens mij aan één gelijkspel wel genoeg? Hou nou eens op over 1998. Nee, die 0-0 tegen België in de eerste wedstrijd, dat was om duimen en vingers bij af te likken. Dit is gewoon het best begin van een tournooi voor Nederland in decenia. Zijn we nu Europees kampioen? Nee, natuurlijk niet. Maar dit is gewoon een fantastisch begin van het tournooi, ik kan alleen maar medelijden voelen met mensen die dat proberen te ontkennen, want zulke wedstrijden zoals vanavond zal je in de toekomst niet vaak meer meemaken.
Ik vond Roemenië goed verdedigen en dit Roemenië kan nog wel eens van een beslissende waarde gaan zijn in deze groep. Ik ben ook benieuwd naar de wedstrijd van de Fransen tegen Nederland. Als alles gaat lopen bij Frankrijk, vrees ik toch voor een nederlaag voor Nederland. En dan staat er een ontzettende druk op het Nederlands elftal in de laatste wedstrijd tegen Roemenië. Van Roemenië verloor Nederland in de EK-kwalificatie, dus het zal nog verrdomd moeilijk gaan worden voor Nederland.
Het gevaar schuilt hem er in dat Nederland de wedstrijd tegen de Fransen wat 'luchtigjes' gaat aanpakken. Onderschatting is natuurlijk het meest domme wat Nederland kan doen tegen de Fransen. Dan ga je geheid voor de bijl.

Sinds een wedstrijd waarin ie nonstop praatte en ik er me op een gegeven moment aan irirteerde en het daarna, omdat je er dan meer op gaat letten, maar door en door en door blijft gaan moet ik die vent niet.

Italy standout defender Fabio Cannavaro was on crutches watching from the dugout after an ankle injury put him out of the competition ahead of its start. Marco Materazzi, a hero of the 2006 World Cup, was supposed to take over his place seamlessly.
It didn't work.
Materazzi could not keep pace with a reinvigorated van Nistelrooy. Embarrassingly, he had to be substituted in the 53rd by Fabio Grosso and Donadoni had to rework his whole defense instead of beefing up the attack.

Ik denk dat de spelers dat ook goed beseffen.
Wat trouwens een enorm voordeel is dat Oranje nog twee 'thuiswedstrijden' in Bern speelt. Wat een geweldige sfeer. Ik hoop dat de steun straks weer zo zal zijn!
