Audioslave is niet meer. Zanger Chris Cornell heeft de band namelijk verlaten. "Onoverkomelijke persoonlijke conflicten en muzikale meningsverschillen" liggen eraan ten grondslag. In een officiële verklaring wenste hij de andere bandleden succes met hun verdere carričre.

De band heeft niet zo heel lang bestaan. In 2001 werd het opgericht. Audioslave bestond uit drie ex-leden van Rage Against The Machine: gitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford en drummer Brad Wilk. Zanger Chris Cornell zat vroeger in Soundgarden, waar hij naast de zang ook het gitaarwerk deed.

In totaal heeft Audioslave drie albums opgenomen.
