Als 'fan' (niet echt maar het eerste album heb ik echt helemaal grijsgedraait toen het uit kwam) van het eerste uur kan ik alleen maar zeggen dat ik echt gewoon uit mijn vel sprong toen ik in een interview las hoe meneer Morello in een paar zinnen de hele politieke message van RATM met de grond gelijk maakte. En Chris Cornell is absoluut een van de beste rockzangers van dit moment, maar zijn arrogante houding in combinatie met zijn inhoudsloze semi-diepzinnige teksten hebben voor mij van audioslave de grootste misser van 2003 gemaakt..en ik wilde het zo graag goed vinden

Btw, ik wou toch nog even de aandacht vestigen "Ashes in the Fall", van "The battle of Los Angeles", en dan vooral die laatste minuut van het nummer... wat een kracht gaat daavan uit, en die gitaargeluiden die ze produceren, gewoonweg niet te evenaren !

De band heeft niet zo heel lang bestaan. In 2001 werd het opgericht. Audioslave bestond uit drie ex-leden van Rage Against The Machine: gitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford en drummer Brad Wilk. Zanger Chris Cornell zat vroeger in Soundgarden, waar hij naast de zang ook het gitaarwerk deed.

In totaal heeft Audioslave drie albums opgenomen.
