That said, Liam (for me) is the best rock singer since Jagger (this album confirms this) and I can't think of another album released this year that I've enjoyed as much as my first experiences with this one.

I can't see this attracting any new fans to Oasis but I can definately see how existing fans and more so fans of what Oasis are in to and are about will really, really enjoy this album. It's a tibute album to English psych music from the 60's only with better production than the majority of those albums and with a greater singer.

I thank Oasis for keeping this style of music alive and not letting it die out to all the girly music that's taken over the radio, tv and charts lately (those damn kids!)

Oasis announced as final headliner for Electric Proms

The BBC Electric Proms today announced Britain's greatest rock n roll band Oasis as the final headliner to complete this year's festival bill. The world-renowned band will draw the event to a close when they take to the stage at the Roundhouse in London on Sunday 26th October following five days of music in both London and Liverpool.

Oasis are set to treat music fans to a very special performance at the festival and will be accompanied by the Crouch End Festival Chorus. Oasis will be supported at the Roundhouse by Glasvegas.

Tickets will be available to buy at BBC Electric Proms from tomorrow (Tuesday 30 September 2008) at 8.15am.

Oasis have played a variety of Manchester venues through the years, including a gig at the Gallaghers' beloved Manchester City's old Maine Road stadium in 1996, as well as the team's new home, The City Of Manchester Stadium, in 2005.

However, Gallagher hinted that the band were set to play the show at an unusual location.
