Tijd voor een nieuw tournament! De meest talentvolle regisseur onder de 40 jaar. Redelijk jong voor veel regisseurs, wie zijn de opkomende talenten? Van wie gaan we nog veel horen?

Iedere regisseur onder de 40 komt dus in aanmerking, eerst is er de mogelijkheid om te nomineren wie je wilt, daarna gaat het verder in knock-out vorm. Een regisseur moet 2x genoemd worden voor een nominatie.

Gevestigde namen als Eastwood of Scorsese noem je imo geen talent meer. Dus wanneer spreek je dan nog van talent. Zijn mensen als Nolan, Rodriguez en Aronofsky nog talentvol te noemen. Of hebben die zich al zo bewezen dat het eigenlijk gevestigde namen zijn geworden. Of in tegengestelde richting iemand als Kevin Smith, die zijn verwachtingen niet waar heeft kunnen maken.

Maar van Eastwood en Scorsese verwacht ik ook veel goeds te zien. Maar die staan er ook niet tussen. Dus waar ligt de grens? Ik vraag me dus af of iemand als Nolan nog een talent is te noemen. Net zoals de vraag is of je een voetballer als Messi nog een talent kan noemen.

Nogal moeilijk omdat ik There Will Be Blood nog moet zien en die een serieuze impact kan hebben op het oordeel, ik ga mijn instinct dan maar volgen.

#2. Christopher Nolan - Sarah Polley
Allemaal wel leuk, maar Polley hoort hier (voorlopig) nog niet thuis. Duel 1 mocht wat mij betreft ook de finale zijn, van die kerels verwacht ik nog meesterwerken, bij Nolan eerder films die "cool" of "vet" zijn, maar verder weinig indruk maken. Als Wright hier nog had meegedaan, dan had ik op hem gestemd, daar verwacht ik meer van.
