UEFA are pursuing disciplinary proceedings against Milan and goalkeeper Nelson Dida after events in the Champions League clash against Celtic.

The Rossoneri’s misery at a 2-1 reverse was intensified as Dida reacted dramatically to a blow from a fan who had invaded the pitch.

The interloper appeared to tap the giant Brazilian lightly with the palm of his hand, but Dida required a stretcher to leave the pitch prompting outrage from fans and the Press.

Celtic face action for allowing a fan to invade the playing surface, but it is now official that Milan will be charged for infringing on Article Five of the UEFA code.

This rule states “member associations, clubs, as well as their players, officials and members, shall conduct themselves according to the principles of loyalty, integrity and sportsmanship.”

The possible ramifications for Milan and Dida have not yet been made public, but it is widely believed that the European champions will face a substantial fine.

Dida is also likely to pick up a costly bill from UEFA, but he may also receive a suspension that could rule him out of crucial Champions League games.
