De fans vrezen grote vrezen: zou Madonna dit keer hip-hop gaan? Dat is nog even afwachten, want een officiële releasedatum of titel voor het nieuwe album zijn er nog niet. Wel zijn er inmiddels verschillende clips gelekt van een Pharrell-track genaamd Candy Shop en is er een demo gelekt van Pharrell-track The Beat Goes On.
Verder zijn er speculaties over een tour (niet bevestigd of ontkend), een MTV VMA-optreden (ontkend) en is Madonna bezig met haar filmregiedebuut Filth and Wisdom en een documentaire over de AIDS-wezen in Malawi, waar ook haar adoptiezoontje David vandaan komt.

Een van de redenen dat ze het ook doet denk ik, net voor haar pensioen weer groot worden in de States om daarna altijd gezien te worden als een legende.

Het is trouwens nog niet helemaal zeker of Madonna en Mariah het tegen elkaar zullen gaan opnemen. Ik ken de release data rond Mariah niet, maar ik neem aan dat je eind 2007 bedoelde, JBoy?

"The beat goes on" begint nu wel leuker te worden nu ik hem vaker heb gehoord, al hoop ik op een andere 1e single.

Ik vind The Beat Goes On steeds beter worden... het is een en al 'hook' qua melodie. Jammer dat veel fans dat niet horen. Enne... Let There Be New Material soon!

Ach, bij Hung Up was er ook veel gekrakeel onder de fans en zie eens wat een succes het album werd, uiteindelijk. Ik maak me er niet zo'n zorgen om.
Het schijn toch dat Madonna en team niet heel erg gelukkig zijn met het lekken van TBGO. Het liedje was nog verre van definitief en het is niet eens zeker of het nummer op het album terecht komt. Het schijnt ook dat Stuart Price nog veel van deze nummers gaat 'opschonen' of afmixen. En dat moet dus ook nog gebeuren.

Candyshop is anders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ik moet wel ff wennen. De coupletten klinken lekker, refrein minder. Ik vind The Beat Goes On pakkender!

Ik weet nog niet wat ik ervan moet vinden. Het pakt me nog niet direct, hoewel ik sommige elementen uit het liedje leuk vind. De onderkoelde sexiness is leuk, maar toch wringt er iets ofzo...
Ik heb het idee dat dit album niet mijn kopje thee gaat worden. Deze hele stijl in de muziek vind ik bijzonder saai en opervlakkig en met opervlakkig bedoel ik dan dat het niet muzikaal is. Het zijn geluidjes en het klinkt iel. Dit keer niet vernieuwend maar een meeloper van Madonna.

The pop superstar's management informed Warner last week that she would accept Live Nation's offer after the record company refused to match the deal, said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday because of the confidential nature of the matter.
Warner Music and Live Nation declined to comment. A call to Madonna's publicist was not immediately returned.
Under terms of the proposed deal, Madonna, 49, would receive a signing bonus of about $18 million (ñ13 million) and an advance of about $17 million (ñ12 million) for each of three albums, the person said. A portion of the compensation would involve stock, the person said.
Madonna could also benefit significantly from the touring component of the deal, which gives Live Nation the exclusive right to promote her tours, the person said.
Madonna first signed with Warner Music Group subsidiary Warner Bros. Records in 1984. Her last contract with the New York-based company calls for her to deliver one more studio album and a greatest hits record.

Best spannend. Als ze al haar belangen bij Live Nation onderbrengt zou het best wel eens kunnen zijn dat ze wat meer live releases gaat uitbrengen. En misschien ook betere merchandise? We zullen het zien. Madonna is in ieder geval een slim zakenvrouwtje. Artiesten verdienen tegenwoordig meer aan hun tours dan aan hun platen.
