Showtime has picked up a second season of the David Duchovny comedy "Californication." According to the industry trade papers, "Californication" will begin production on a second run of 12 half-hour episodes starting next April, setting the series up to return next summer.
"Californication" brings "X-Files" star Duchovny back to the small screen as a writer whose experiences sexual excess and a creative deficiency as he struggles to get his life back together. Natascha McElhone co-stars as his ex-partner, with Evan Handler as his agent.
Duchovny also serves as an executive producer along with series creator Tom Kapinos and director Stephen Hopkins.
Showtime premiered "Californication" after the third season launch of the Emmy nominated "Weeds" and saw the new show pull in 550,000 total viewers. The three subsequent episodes have actually improved on the premiere audience by an average of 18 percent. Showtime boasts that "Californication" is holding onto an impressive 90 percent of its "Weeds" lead-in.

Iets viel me op aan het interview in de nieuwste ep. De presentator noemde Moody's boeken: "South of Heaven", "Seasons in the Abyss" en "God Hates Us All". Dit zijn allen titels van Slayer albums!.
