Sir Paul McCartney is reportedly planning to sign a second record deal with coffee chain Starbucks, because he is thrilled with the sales of his latest album Memory Almost Full. McCartney caused controversy among his liberal fans when he signed a one-album deal with Starbucks' Hear Music label after 43 years with music giant EMI. Music industry insiders claim MCCartney refused to sign more than a one-album deal with Hear Music because he was concerned the venture might not work, but after the disc went to number three in the U.S. album charts earlier this month (June '07), the former Beatle is delighted. An insider tells British newspaper Daily Express, "Paul always had the business brain in The Beatles. Now that the new album is selling well, Paul has finally been convinced to sign a long-term deal with Starbucks and is expected to put pen to papers in the coming weeks. This means Starbucks will be responsible for Paul's albums for many years to come."

Ellendige Chapman.. Dit was geweldig geweest! Ik had hier nog nooit eerder van gehoord eigenlijk.quote:It seems that at some stage of the late 1970s The now ex Beatles must have had some sort of contact with each other about reviving the 'Long and Winding Road' project. Evidence of this is that on November 28th 1980 - just 10 days before his death, John Lennon signed a legal affidavit that he and the other three former Beatles have plans to stage reunion concert to promote the 'Long and Winding Road' film. Apple at the time was suing the producers of the show 'Beatlemania' and wanted to prove that they still planned live performances.
Of course the death of John Lennon put the whole project on hold for several years. Not only that but even though the legal wrangles had been sorted out amongst The Beatles themselves they were now involved in a lawsuit against EMI over control and royalties paid on their recordings. This also meant it would be difficult for any Beatles songs to appear in the Beatles story - obviously a situation that couldnÕt happen.
enquote:McCartney had planned to reunite Beatles
SIR PAUL McCARTNEY planned to reunite THE BEATLES a year before JOHN LENNON was murdered, according to a newly released record contract. A former staffer for Capital Records told the New York Post that Paul McCartney's $10 million deal with CBS Records in 1979 had a clause that allowed him to record with The Beatles at any time. "This is the earliest evidence of any Beatle making formal overtures toward a reunion," the source said."
The Beatles were planning their reunion when John Lennon was murdered, according
to the record producer working with the late rocker on the night he was shot.Jack Douglas, who produced Lennon's final album Double Fantasy, has revealed that Lennon and Paul McCartney were talking about working together on a Ringo Starr solo album. Douglas says: "He and Paul planned to play on a Ringo album and that's how they were planning to do it, and George (Harrison) had not come aboard yet. "George was already in a lot of hot water with John because of George releasing his autobiography and not really mentioning much of John in it. But I think they assumed that George would come along as soon as the thing got going." And Douglas also claims Lennon's wife Yoko Ono actively blocked a Beatles reunion. He adds: "Let's just put it this way - Yoko discouraged Paul coming around. "There was a writing session somewhere in the Dakota (building where Lennon and Ono lived) and there was one cancelled which John did not know about. He was told that Paul did not show. Paul was told that John was too busy to be working with him that day."
The Beatles wel.
