I am dealing with some very serious health problems. I think I am the next Sunless Princess! undecided(see melanotan one logs).
After stopping my cycle my weight started to go down for the first two weeks just by a bit so I hoped this would continue. But it didn't it continued to increase at an alarming rate. I couldn't understand this as I had been on a very strict diet and despite not being able to do cardio exercise my job is very active so it made no sense, at the worst it should have been staying stable. The chest pains, breathing problems and breast pain (which began to decrease) all started getting worse. The blurry vision which started when I started my cycle, mainly on the days I injected, is now almost all of the time and I can only look at a computer screen or read for ten minutes before it gets very bad. Never had problems with my sight before. The joint pain is now all over my body as is the muscle pain and am having cramps and muscle spasms too. The dry skin on my feet became a serious fungal infection which spread to my hands and has lead to each nail becoming unattached by half of the nail on hands and feet. I have treated it and it has stopped spreading. I am having very irregular sleep patterns, problems getting to sleep then waking often and then problems getting back to sleep even when very tired. Even if I sleep 8 hours I wake up exhausted and feel sleepy all day. I have had constipation one day then upset tum the next for a while now. I am suffering from regular memory loss long and short term and sometimes not being able to think of the right word I am looking for, feeling stupid. I am having a lot of days of feeling depressed, anxiety every day and feeling of panic and negative thoughts.
All of these symptoms were NOT present before I began Melanotan II. The only one which was similar was that I was over weight but that had been a constant weight rather than rapidly increasing. I had tried to explain each symptom by something other than Melanotan II ie. fungus maybe due to washing my hands too often. But it got to the point where I couldn't find any explanations so I booked a doctors appointment and started searching the forum. That's when I found Sunless Princess' log and was shocked at how similar our symptoms were and how serious it could become.
She mentioned having WTS (Wilson's Temperature Syndrome) which I then did a lot of research on and it is something which 40% of us can have at some point in our lives and is triggered by a shock to the body/system. The test is simple using a thermometer to check the temperature 3 times a day at certain times and if it is consistently below 37 degrees it is a sign you have this syndrome. Other things must be ruled out aswell but it is treatable over a period of months/years with strict medication. All of the symptoms I have are explained by this syndrome (if that is what I have).
So I went to my doctor today and told him everything including about using Melanotan II and when I stopped my cycle etc. He was shocked by all the symptoms since I had seen him in July for a regular checkup and all was fine except for the weight increase (and I hadn't been to a doctor in 6 years!) but he has taken it all seriously and I have appointments for full blood work and other tests. I must continue checking my temperature at the given times and if nothing is found in the tests he will look into treatment for WTS.
I have a very stress free lifestyle, am my own boss and have a lot of time off to relax so I have no reason to feel anxious and have all these symptoms. The only thing that changed was the use of Melanotan II.
So the question is, "Is Melanotan II the cause?"
It is very possible but not in the way you might think. WTS is caused by a shock to the body, such as a death, divorce, work stress, giving up smoking, use of a medication, suddenly stopping eating even having an operation and various other stressful stuff.
Basically the body defends itself against the threat to the system by going into "hibernation mode" and begins functioning at a lower temperature. The body's organs don't function as well at this temperature which is why it causes all the problems but it is the body's way of saving energy and surviving. Most people who go through this go back to normal but a lot of us don't and some can stay like this forever never knowing what is causing the problems since they are looking at them all as individual problems not realising they are all related. Some people have a trauma and never feel the same again physically or mentally and it could be because they have WTS.
It is not fatal but can lead to early death due to heart failure etc.
Sunless Princess could not say 100% that it was caused by Melanotan but the symptoms began when she began her cycle(this is the same for me) and are beginning to go away with the treatment but is a lengthy procedure. If Melanotan is the cause it may not be because it is bad , or has something wrong with it but because it may be the substance which has shocked the body as it is unused to it creating the problem or the act of injecting has caused the stress and lead to the problem. So a lot of us may not be affected but then many of us could be and some of us may be affected at first but the body resets itself making the symptoms go away. This could explain why some have side effects just at the beginning when we just presume it is because the body has got used to it. I too feel very sad that I finally discovered something that can give me a tan and make me feel more confident but may have lead to all these problems, I am absolutely gutted! cry
I think the main problem here is that many of us will experience side effects during a cycle, not realise they could be something serious and presume they will go away after usage stops. But if it is ignored it can lead to serious problems which will be permanent and even get worse if left untreated.
I know this is what I did and since they mainly got much worse after I stopped the cycle I presumed that they mustn't be related. However it could be that my body was more shocked by the sudden withdrawal of the Melanotan II as oppose to when I began usage. Many people on this site have experienced chest pain, breathing problems, blurred vision, insomnia, joint pain, muscle ache, lethargy, weight changes, constipation/upset tum, fungal infections, loss of appetite, under performance at the gym, pain in breast tissue, anxiety, depression. These are all symptoms of either WTS or a malfunctioning thyroid(which can be caused by WTS) or both at the same time. But we are all just thinking they are temporary side effects.
Anyway, this is a bit longer than I planned. I will keep you posted on my results and anything else I find out. I have PM'd Sunless Princess but not had a reply yet, maybe she will see this and post. I advise anyone who is experiencing these symptoms during or after a cycle to seek medical advice and insist on tests just incase. undecided
