Dat vind ik ook wel een wat vreemd systeem. Zoals het eerst was, was het beter.

Zo zie je eigenlijk meteen waarom sommige landen altijd maar weer in die top 10 belanden.
Terwijl het nummer gewoon zuigt.

Blijkbaar wordt er al actief gezocht naar een locatie. Verschillende steden mogen nu kenbaar maken dat ze er interesse in hebben. Dit zijn tot nu toe de mogelijke locaties:

Wenen
Wiener Stadthalle: plek voor 15.000 mensen.
Messe Wien: plek voor 15.000 tot 30.000 mensen.

Graz
Stadthalle Graz: plek voor 10.000 mensen.
Schwarzl Freizeit Zentrum: plek voor ongeveer 5.000 mensen, moet er wel nog even een concerthal worden gebouwd.

Innsbruck
Olympiahalle: plek voor 10.000 mensen.

Klagenfurt
Wörthersee Stadion: plek voor 18.000 tot 30.000 mensen. Moet er wel even een dak op worden gebouwd.

Linz
Brucknerhaus: plek voor 1.420 ( ) mensen.

Oberwart
Exhibition hall: plek voor 7.000 mensen.

Vorarlberg
Vorarlberger Landestheater: plek voor 7.000 mensen.

Wat mij betreft gewoon in Wenen doen.

Vaarwel Oost-Europa?

Just days after Eurovision 2014 it has emerged that a new contest has been proposed for former Soviet states called “Voice of Eurasia”. The proposal comes from the Communist Party deputy Valery Rashkin, who told Interfax that:

"We must leave this competition. We cannot tolerate this endless madness."

The contest was supported by advisers of Belarus’s President Alexander Lukashenko. The creation of the contest is in response to Conchita Wurst winning the contest on Saturday night, Conchita is an Austrian man name Tom Neuwirth, who performs as Conchita who is a woman with a beard.

The contest would be a return to the Soviet Unions rival to the Eurovision Song Contest which was called Intervision which ran from 1977 to 1980. This is however not the first time that Russia has tried to start an alternative to Eurovision with Vladimir Putin in 2009 after Russia hosted Eurovision putting forward the creation of a competition between Russia and Central Asia as well as China. The contest then would have been a reworked version of Intervision.

Voor wie het nog niet wist: Conchita solliciteerde tijdens de presconferentie na afloop openlijk naar de functie van host van volgend jaar (vanaf 15:30). Ik denk dat ze dat wel voor elkaar krijgt. Niemand kan haar iets weigeren.

She said that points given by the judges and the audience were shown separately and it let us see the difference and doubt on the counting of final results: “Professional jury from 37 countries gave high points to Azerbaijan's representative Dilara Kazimova placing her in the 8th place, but finally she ranked the 22nd place. What actually happened in Eurovision 2014 song contest? Dilara's song "Start a Fire" was welcomed by journalists, fans and bookmakers before the contest. Dilara’s song has been included in TOP-12 songs of bookmakers and TOP-5 songs on Eurovision websites till the final of the contest. Dilara performed at number 3 in the final that seems to have a negative impact on the voting. Performing numbers have been determined by the local organizers of the contest since 2013, while allocation draw was held among representatives in Eurovision 2012 song contest that took place in Baku. The jury placed Dilara in the 8th place, but the audience in the 21st place. Then an unexpected thing happened, Dilara Kazimova ranked the 22nd place. Besides, the Italian representative who scored the same points with Dilara, ranked the 21st place”.

N. Mammadova noted that Azerbaijan is not the only country which suffers from the new system. “Polish representatives Donatan and Cleo were placed in the 1st place by the Great Britain audience but the jury placed them in the last place. Consequently, in accordance with the new rules, Poland didn’t receive a point from Great Britain. It means that the audience’s decision was neglected. Another misinterpretation is about Norway. Norwegian representative who was placed by the audience in the 17th place and by the jury in the 9th place. In the final table he was in the 8th place.

Andorra heeft laten weten niet mee te doen in 2015. Dat is wel in de lijn der verwachtingen.

Armenië heeft bevestigd mee te doen in 2015.

Vienna, Austria - Yesterday, just a little more than a week after the Grand Final, the delegations of the EBU and the Austrian broadcaster ORF, met in Vienna for initial talks and kick-off meeting about the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.
From the EBU, it was the Executive Supervisor Jon Ola Sand and the Event Supervisor Sietse Bakker attending the meeting. From ORF, Dr. Alexander Wrabetz (Director General), Richard Grasl (Commercial Director), Kathrin Zechner (TV Director) and Michael Götzhaber (Technical Director) were present.

While it’s still quite early, some details about the upcoming shows were touched at the meeting. Two things are clear - the arena should be available six weeks before the event and it should be a closed event hall without issues with daylight.

Jon Ola Sand, Executive Supervisor at the EBU: "We appreciate the early invitation for this kick-off meeting, which shows ORF's commitment to a successful Eurovision Song Contest in 2015. The foundation of that success is an early start, and we are looking forward to the challenge ahead!"

Dr Alexander Wrabetz: "With a major international event such as the Eurovision Song Contest, it is important not to lose time and to start the preparation work. In this sense, we also have already started initial discussions - just a week after the victory. All are highly motivated and with the EBU, we have a top professional partner on our side. It is sure that a mega project of this magnitude can only be realised as a pan-Austrian cooperation between ORF, the state, municipal and private partners."

The preliminary dates for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest are set for the 12th, 14th and 16th of May.

Ik hoop het ook niet. Ik vond het erg jammer dat ik het begin van het jaar niks kon posten. Het ESF nieuws komt dan op gang met de eerste landen die hun keus maken, nationale voorrondes, etc.
