Authorities in Malaysia have seized thousands of bootleg copies of Star Wars: Episode II -- Attack of the Clones on the eve of the movie's worldwide opening, the Singapore Straits Times reported today (Wednesday). The newspaper said that the crackdown did not prevent the appearance of copies of the movie in both VCD ($2.50) and DVD ($5.00) on the local street market in Kuala Lumpur. "We are aware pirated copies of the film hit the streets on Sunday," 20th Century Fox's director for Malaysia Chow Will Pin told the newspaper. "Of course it will affect business."

Spielberg Finally Graduates
Steven Spielberg is finally graduating from college. According to Reuters the Oscar-winning director quietly returned to California State University Long Beach last spring after dropping out more than 30 years ago to pursue his film career. Via directed independent study, Spielberg completed a degree in Film & Electronic Media and will walk in the graduation ceremony at the end of the month. In a statement to the press, Spielberg said "I wanted to accomplish this for many years as a 'thank you' to my parents for giving me the opportunity for an education and a career, and as a personal note for my own family -- and young people everywhere -- about the importance of achieving their college education goals." Spielberg also called the 33 year delay in completing his degree "my longest 'post-production schedule.'"
Christensen Unsure If He'll Get To Wear Vader Costume
Hayden Christensen is still waiting to hear if he'll get to wear Darth Vader's famous black costume in the third Star Wars film. The Canadian actor plays Anakin Skywalker in Attack Of The Clones, which offers glimmers of the character's eventual transformation into the villainous Vader. But Christensen says creator George Lucas has not told him how far the transformation will go in Episode III. He says, "I nag him every now and then about whether or not I'll get to wear the Darth Vader outfit, and he gives me a little wink- wink, nudge-nudge, that maybe I will." The actor has managed to try on Vader's helmet, just for fun, at Lucas' Skywalker Ranch. Christensen, 21, reveals, "Last time I was here, I went up to the archives and got shown around, and there was the dark helm. I asked if I could put it on and get a picture, which is pretty funny, because I'm wearing this gray track suit and had this enormous helmet on which is just completely disproportionate." Christensen has tried to pry more details about the next film out of Lucas, who begins shooting the third and final prequel next summer for release in 2005.

Reviewtje van IMDB
Ben benieuwd.

Wow. I saw a screening with some friends last night... and boy was this a lame attempt of Lucas trying to regain his PERMANENTLY LOST creative talent. I have to admit, it WAS better than Phantom, but it will never beat the old trilogy.I must say it had some great affects... better than Spider-Man's. But at least in Spider-Man there was character development, a GREAT plot, GREAT acting (save Ms. Dunst), and great directing skills.
There was no character development. The worst plot yet... since when were Jedi like priests? They can't have girlfriends? Utterly bull. Lucas is trying to come up with better ideas. The acting was...hmmm...how do i put this? oh yeah: AWFUL. Ewan M. and Samuel J. were the only good parts. The directing is the same as the acting, it would have been better off made by retarded monkeys.
The action was good, well coreographed, as always. But I didn't get the same adrenaline rush as I did in Spidey. Who does Haden C. think he's fooling? He should be a clothing model... so he wont have to open his mouth and make an idiot of himself. The Yoda fight was cool, like most of them. But the clone attack thingy was pretty lame. The title sounds like a bad political statement.
In the end... this was the worst movie of the summer. Still better than Phantom. If you are a die-hard fan don't expect much. Spider-Man is much better. All Clones is is Battlefield Earth with a Star Wars makeover, good effects, and two more good acting jobs. If you need to see a movie this summer... see Spidey while you can. But of course if you must cure your insomnia, see Clones, it will do just the trick.

Jedi Knights have sex after all, according to George Lucas, creator of the characters' hit sci-fi series Star Wars. Speculation that the lightsaber-wielding warriors were supposed to live a monk-like existence has been rife since details of Attack Of The Clones began to leak out. In the new flick Jedi Anakin Skywalker's character shares forbidden love with Queen Amidala, but Lucas says it's romance, rather than hanky panky, which is banned by the Jedi code. He says, "Jedi Knights aren't celibate - the thing that is forbidden is attachments - and possessive relationships." No Jedi Knight has yet been seen with a partner in any of the five Star Wars movies
See....this movie you must

Spider-Man gaat het heel, heel erg moeilijk krijgen.
