Daarnaast bagger geluid (terwijl tijdens Take That het geluid wonderbaarlijk fantastisch klonk).

Songwriting
We've been in the studio for the last few weeks continuing to write songs for our next album. So far this year we've written 16 new songs. I think we'll start recording the album in November for release next year. Neil x

Format
Pet Shop Boys will release a brand new b-sides compilation on February 6th, 2012, on Parlophone. Entitled "Format", it celebrates the duo's prolific song-writing and recording by collecting 38 b-sides and bonus tracks originally released on singles from 1996 to 2009.

That's no reflection on the quality of the songs gathered together here though - indeed, it's striking to see how little filler there is here (...) a fine overview of nearly 15 years worth of clever, intelligent pop music that's far too good to be consigned to B-side status.

PSBs Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe remain one of musics most memorable songwriting partnerships since Lennon and McCartney.

On this collection of 38 B-sides and bonus tracks from 1996 till now you have everything from melancholy electronica to bouncy dance tunes stopping at all points on the way and all with lyrics that really do put most other writers operating at the clever end of pop to absolute shame.
Even Neil Tennant’s skinny little voice is a delight when set against the deliciously varied soundscapes. Brilliant, brilliant stuff.
