ROADBURN FESTIVAL SOLD OUT IN 45 MINUTES


Roadburn -- Europe's preeminent festival for stoner, doom, psychedelica and
other coloured metal -- sold out in just 45 minutes after the tickets went
on sale last Saturday, April 13.

Walter/Roadburn comments: "We still can't believe that the 2009 festival
sold out so quickly. It was utter mayhem when the tickets went on sale last
Saturday. Many of the tickets were gone before the regular Roadburn
attendees realized that sales had even started. Unfortunately, about 150 to
200 tickets are currently being sold through secondary ticket outlets for
prices up to ¤ 350. We feel very badly that Roadburn can't prevent this from
happening, but it's not against the law to resell tickets in the
Netherlands. Please be very aware that some of these scalpers may sell fake
tickets."

Roadburn Festival 2009, including the inaugural European version of
Neurosis' acclaimed Beyond The Pale festival, is set to be held April 23
through April 25, at the 013 venue, Tilburg, Holland. There's an additional
afterburner event scheduled for Sunday, April 26th.

The line up for Roadburn 2009 includes Saint Vitus, Motorspycho, Amon Düül
II, Cathedral, Baroness, OM, Orange Goblin, The Outskirts of Infinity, Wino,
The Young Gods, Six Organs of Admittance, Rose Kemp, Mono, Asva, Shora,
Wolves In The Throne Room along with Neurosis and many others.

GRAILS, EARTH, GREY DATURAS & TRIBES OF NEUROT CONFIRMED FOR NEUROSIS' BEYOND THE PALE AT ROADBURN 2009

Neurosis and Roadburn are very pleased to report that Grails, Earth, Grey Daturas & Tribes of Neurot have been confirmed for the inaugural European version of Neurosis' acclaimed Beyond The Pale festival, set to be held at Roadburn 2009 on Saturday, April 25, the 013 venue, Tilburg, Holland.



Steve Von Till comments: "Guitars more lyrical than most voices, drums more frantic than Keith Moon, instrumentals that take you to both distant yet incredibly internal spaces. In my opinion Grails are one of the most formidable bands of our day. A tight knit group of dynamic players who simultaneously push their sound through the known gateways into uncharted territory while somehow remaining as hauntingly familiar as your own name. Perhaps they are improving on what has been taught to them, yet again, they may be opening new sonic doors be it through lulling the listener into a numbingly beautiful space or luring one into the dark recesses of their fucked up head. Either way, they are completely blowing your mind. Grails are one of my favorite bands of all time."



"Let’s face facts, the worlds of heavy guitar and drone music did not have much in common until Dylan Carlson and Earth seemed to come out of nowhere. Any project with the balls to name itself after the original name for Black Sabbath should have something intense to offer. What Earth brought forth was a minimal wall of distorted guitar bliss. A dreamtime music for the indie music world. Repetition so deep that the listeners ears and mind are altered to hear voices and subtleties that may or may not be there.
Slowly shifting yet endlessly sustaining, that chord would resonate through music and drone would eventually become part of modern heavy music vocabulary. As soon as they changed everything they disappeared in smoke only to reemerge years later. Bearing telecasters and evoking the literary dust covered blood stains of Cormac McCarthy with a narcotic pace, they are still changing the way we all perceive rock music."

Completely uncompromising music and total dedication to touring initially warmed our hearts to these amazing people. Not content to sit around and wait for something to happen, or for all the imaginary conditions to be right, Grey Daturas have toured the United States several times, mostly in the true underground art and noise spaces.
Expense, frustration and difficulties be damned, they show more balls than most bands that live in the U.S. or Europe.
Not many would reciprocate, and dare to throw it all to the wind and go to Grey Datura's part of the world. Uniting krautrock like jams, unstructured free noise, and psychedelic heavy rock into something unusual and heartfelt it will be a true joy to have their pure attitude and sound at Beyond the Pale."



Tribes of Neurot, the experimental soundscape sibling outfit to Neurosis will make a rare appearance at Beyond The Pale. Walter H, Roadburn's organizer comments: "Tribes of Neurot offer up a languidly swirling miasma of ambient psychedelica. Slowly cascading drones morph into startling glimpses of our own psyche's reflection and eventually fade back into hallucinogenic drones again. It is in these moments of unexpected self reflection that Tribes of Neurot prove that they offer up something unique in the field of ambient music.
They take their years of experience and put them to excellent use by adding layers of complexity and depth to their songs. The curious and the converted will be well rewarded for their attention, as sounds both soothing and foreboding will gently pull them into a blissful focused drift. Beyond The Pale & Roadburn 2009 --Europe's Terrorizer sponsored, pre-eminent festival for stoner, doom, psychedelica and other coloured metal -- sold out just 45 minutes after the tickets went on sale on

Saturday, December 13. The festival is set to be held April 23 through April 25, at the 013 venue, Tilburg, Holland. There's an additional afterburner event scheduled for Sunday, April 26th.



In other related news, Vibravoid have been confirmed for the Friday Roadburn date, Friday April 24. With the vibe of early Pink Floyd, Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Electric Prunes and Spacemen 3 running through their drugged-up veins, Germany's very own Vibravoid excel at synthesizing these influences into a heavy storm of psychedelic sounds, shapes, and colors.



The Outskirts of Infinity will play an additional show on Saturday, April 25, as part of the Roadburn Festival at the V-39 stage. The band will veer into heavy jamming, deep space territory, as well as honoring Jimi Hendrix and The Cream.
