X-ellent line-up


The pumped-up mutant line-up for the second X-Men film has been revealed.
In addition to the five good characters from the first film, a further nine super-powered subjects of Professor Xaviers School for Gifted Youngsters will be appearing.

Heres the run-down of the new additions and their powers:

Colossus - able to turn his body into a substance harder than steel
Jubilee - has the power to create explosive bursts of energy, blinding and hurting her foes
Pyro - able to manipulate fire to do his bidding
Iceman - can freeze anything and anyone
Nightcrawler - has tail, will teleport
Beast - shaggy, blue and buff
Siryn - mistress of the sonic scream
Kitty Pryde - walks on water and through walls thanks to her ability to change her density at will
Gambit - able to charge objects with explosive energy and charm people into doing his wishes.

With all these mutants turning up, plus, presumably, some baddies for them to fight, its hard to see how anyones going to get more than a few seconds of screen time, but hey, the more the merrier.
Shooting on the film is currently underway in Canada, and reports are very good so far.

Speaking to the Comics Continuum website, Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios said, "This film is shaping up to be everything a great sequel should be - the characters are better, the scope is bigger, and the mythos is explored in deeper and more unexpected ways."

The film is due out next year.
