Opmerkelijk nieuws; M. Night Shyamalan de man achter de films als; The Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable, The Village & Lady in the Water heeft laten weten dat hij plannen heeft om de bekende animé serie van Nickelodeon; Avatar the Last Airbender te gaan verfilmen in maar liefst 3 delen. Shyamalan wil deze reeks zelf gaan schrijven, regisseren en produceren.
Het verhaal in een notendop;
When the current Avatar, a 12-year-old boy still learning to master his powers, seemingly dies, the Fire nation launches a war for global domination. One hundred years later, two teens discover and free the Avatar and his flying bison from suspended animation, and he must fight to restore harmony among the four nations.
The series, influenced by Asian art, mythology and fighting styles, has won several awards and garnered Annie Award nominations for best animated television production and best writing in an animated television production. The series also has attracted an audience beyond Nickelodeon's usual 6-11 demographic.
Wanneer deze productie daadwerkelijk van start gaat is nog onbekend, er zijn namelijk geruchten dat Night eerst wil beginnen aan een eigen nieuwe productie een 'Hitchcockian achtige' film, voordat hij met Nickelodeon daadwerkelijk in zee gaat. To be continued...!

Avatar is tof. Jammer dat die meneer met die rare naam het gaat verfilmen, hij verneukt alles wat hij aanraakt.

Toevallig gisteren middag 1 aflevering gekeken van Avatar, best wel aardige serie, heeft wat weg van Dragonball, maar dan meer aziatische achtige stijl, helaas is het door de nederlandse nasynchronisatie niet aan te horen, maar wel leuk genoeg om iig te volgen

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
