They say they've put the server behind a cisco guard firewall thingy, so I explain that's crappy and I want something permanent, and tell them I want to get a hardware firewall from them
After a few more tickets of them explaining how great their cisco firewalls are (even though they don't have them for rent or sale) they agree on renting me a lowly checkpoint firewall
Now more problems, servers are on different racks so they'll have to cross connect the firewall to another rack, that will mean an extra charge to me (and I wonder why, that's their problem if they can't just move my server)
So all in all, when I finally get to ordering and confirming my order, the server has been down for like a week (was it?)
Then they give me a 24-72 hour deadline that they fail to meet
conclusion:
we're paying around $660/month for the servers now, and we still can't get any decent customer service
PS: this is the best explanation I can give at my current state
