Tehran and Damascus are gearing up for a pre-emptive Syrian attack on Israel to ward off a US strike on Iran’s nuclear sites

Our military and Washington sources read as preparatory justification the Syrian ruler Bashar Asad’s statement Saturday, Oct. 7, that he expects an Israeli attack.
He was speaking in an interview to Kuwaiti paper al-Anba.
Asad’s Iranian-backed war plan would serve the purpose of forcing the Americans to divide their military assets between a strike against Iran and the defense of their allies in the Persia Gulf, Israel and US forces in Iraq. Both are seriously looking at a Syrian attack on the Golan which would escalate into a full-blown Syrian-Israeli war and a second Hizballah assault from Lebanon.
Asad’s remark that during the Lebanon hostilities, he was under pressure from the Syrian population to go to war against Israel and liberate the Golan is the most direct threat of belligerency of all his four Golan statements in the last month. He is implying that he stood up to the pressure once but may not do so again. And for the benefit of the Americans, the Europeans, the Saudis and the Egyptians - all of whom are pretty fed up with him – Asad is posing as the picture of self-restraint; anyone else in his place, he implies, would have taken advantage of the Lebanon war and made a grab for the Golan. Therefore, he is saying, he deserves to be treated with the respect due to a strategic asset by Western and moderate Arab powers instead of being targeted for an ouster.
The Syrian ruler would not threaten war without guarantees from Iran. According to DEBKAfile’s sources, Asad and Iran’s supreme ruler Ayatollah Ali Khamenei are prompted by the following motives:
1. Tehran is not prepared to wait passively for the Americans to build up their assault force in the Gulf and strike its nuclear facilities. A pre-emptive attack would suit them better.
2. Tehran and Damascus have not missed the debilitating crisis in which Israel’s political and military leadership are sunk since the Lebanon war. They do not propose to wait until the IDF pulls itself together enough to handle fresh aggression.
3. Both accept Israel’s deputy prime minister Shimon Peres’ assessment that Israel’s cities are not prepared for missile attack. Iran and Syria take it for granted that Israeli leaders understand they cannot afford to launch missiles against either one of them for fear of reprisal in kind.
4. Syria believes that if Hizballah could stand up to the Israeli army in Lebanon, its commandoes can capture sections of the Golan and walk off with an easy victory.
5. Tehran figures that the Bush administration is coming to the end of its patience in Iraq and preparing for a major review of its position there. The influential U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman, John Warner, said Friday that Iraq's government had 60 to 90 days to control the violence that threatens civil war or the United States would have to reconsider its options. This gives the Maliki government in Baghdad up to December or January to de-escalate if not halt the sectarian war engulfing the country.
Iran, Syria and Hizballah would not be averse to disrupting the American Iraq timeline by attacking Israel and putting the Bush administration on the spot, forced to address three warfronts simultaneously.

North Korea claims nuclear test
North Korea says it has carried out its first test of a nuclear weapon, the state news agency (KCNA) has reported.
It said the underground test, carried out in defiance of international warnings, was a success and had not resulted in any leak of radiation.

I consider this Korean nuclear test to be a significant, very important marker. The Hariri/Syrian situation is the intial trigger related to a possible emerging war, but a Korean-Us and/or China- Taiwan(USA) conflict is also related to these monitored patterns. For the time being I have posted it on the HDDDesign forum as an identified 'possible trigger event' . I expect it will pop up later again, unveiling the hidden Design.

Syrian leader courts Israel talks
Syria is prepared to hold talks with Israel and wants a peaceful solution to the Middle East conflict, President Bashar al-Assad has said.
In an interview with the BBC's John Simpson, President Assad said Syria and Israel could live side-by-side in peace accepting each other's existence.
However, he said "we do not know whether this [Israeli] government is strong enough to move towards peace".
He also said support from Washington was integral to any peace deal.
The current US administration has said Syria is a member of what it has called an axis of evil. Washington has also accused Syria of backing Hezbollah in Lebanon, an organisation it views as a terrorist group.
Following the repercussions of the US-led invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, Mr Assad said officials in the West had accused Syria of supporting terrorism to try to make it "a scapegoat" and to "absolve themselves from any responsibility".
The Syrian leader condemned attacks in Iraq against "civilians and innocents" but said that "resistance is the right of the people".
"The insurgency is against the law - we don't support it. Resistance we adopt as a concept, that does not mean we support it with money or armaments," President Assad said.

It was on my mind yesterday....... I thought there would be a correlation between the Korean nuclear test and the 737 crash in Marathon Greece on August 14 last year but I couldn't find something instantly so I didn't post it.
I posted last year that I consider this crash to be a very important 'marker'. ( flightnumber 522, see breaking the code thread)

Human error caused Helios crash
A series of human errors caused Cyprus's worst airline disaster, a Greek inquiry report has concluded.
The Cypriot Helios Airways Boeing 737-300 crashed near Athens in August 2005, killing all 121 people on board.
The flight from Larnaca to Prague flew on autopilot for nearly two hours before running out of fuel and slamming into a hillside.
The report said the pilots misread instruments regulating cabin pressure and misinterpreted a warning signal.
Maintenance officials on the ground were also blamed for leaving pressure controls on an incorrect setting.
Two Greek air force fighter jets were scrambled when the plane lost radio contact.
Their flight crew saw the Boeing's pilots slumped over the controls and a flight attendant struggling to control the aircraft before it crashed.

Ik heb hier nog niet eerder naar gekeken, maar toevallig zijn Janis Joplin en Jimmi hendrix precies 16 dagen na elkaar overleden. Deze thread gaat in de eerste plaats over 'consciousness' en ik beschouw dit soort wendingen als synchroniteiten die voortkomen uit ons onderbewustzijn en die wellicht interessante verbanden kunnen onthullen.
Als ik in de tijd van Hendrix en Joplin bezig zou zijn geweest met wat ik nu doe, dan had ik zeker verder onderzoek gedaan hoe een eventueel tijdsgecodeerd patroon zich verder zou ontwikkelen. Hun dood had best veel impact en heeft wellicht belangrijke invloed gehad die we nu niet meer herkennen.

Het idiote hieraan vind ik vooral dat je alleen maar achteraf allerlei 'verbanden' zoekt. Achteraf is er natuurlijk altijd wel een toevalligheid te vinden. Kun je met dit alles ook gebeurtenissen voorspellen?
Ik voorspel geen exacte gebeurtenissen, ik kan wel anticiperen op bepaalde thema's die op een bepaald moment 'naar boven' komen. Er zijn veel voorbeelden hiervan te vinden in het materiaal. Van welke synchroniteit-gebeurtenissen heb jij het meeste ervaring mee??? Kun je ook aan de hand van die gegevens een voorspelling doen?? Dat lijkt mij wel es leuk om te 'zien'. Dus niet iets wat je kan gokken aan de hand van informatie uit het nieuws zoals bijv wat voor parlement krijgen we na de aankomende verkiezingen maar iets alleen maar door een berekeningen van de synchroniteiten (sorry ik heb nog niet echt in jouw termen enzoo verdiept, komt nog .

Last night I had this dream, very vivit and clear.
I saw this huge rock in the air, I recognized it in the dream as Phobos, one of the moons orbitting Mars.I'm 100% sure it was Phobos. I was on Earth here though and Phobos seems to be orbitting instead of approaching in a collision course. It looked like Phobos was in the air rather than in space, kind of floating in the air from the left to the right. There was an artificial antenna-like structure on the patato shaped rock. Then something hit Earth but I'm sure it wasn't Phobos. The impact caused fire and floods. My neighbours house was partially flooded but we were safe.

Expectations of an impending full-scale Israeli ground operation in the Gaza Strip were sent up a notch this week by the worrying news military intelligence AMAN chiefs put before the cabinet on Oct. 15.
Maj.-Gen Amos Yadlin and head of AMAN’s research division Brig.-Gen Yossi Baidatz reported deepening Syrian involvement in aggressive moves on three fronts: Damascus is pushing Iranian arms for Hizballah into Lebanon in blatant violation of Security Council resolution 1701 (as first revealed by DEBKAfile on Oct. 4), the first Syrian military instructors have arrived in the Gaza Strip to impart Hizballah’s combat tactics to Hamas and the Syrian army remains on a high state of preparedness.
These moves against Israel represent only half of Syrian president Bashar Asad’s grand design; and the weapons streaming to Hizballah are a small part of the arms smuggled into Lebanon. The lion’s share is destined for six pro-Syrian factions in Lebanon in preparation for the forcible overthrow of Fouad Siniora’s anti-Syrian government in Beirut, should his adherents in Beirut, spearheaded by Hizballah and his Maronite Christian general Michel Aoun, fail to attain power by political machinations.
A major step aimed at inflaming the Lebanese-Israel border region was taken by the pro-Syrian Lebanese chief of staff General Michel Suleiman last Friday, Oct. 13. He authorized Lebanese officers and men deployed on the border to summon Hizballah forces to fight in any border clash.
This order restored Hizballah to the flashpoint border zone just two months after it was supposedly evicted by the UN-brokered ceasefire of August 14. By getting Hizballah reinstated in its old frontline strongholds, Syria and Iran have put the finishing touches on one of the Lebanese front, one of their three war edifices against Israel after Gaza and Golan. These fronts are primed to squeeze Israel hard any time Iran comes under threat of military attack.
This encroaching multiple hazard catches the Israeli government and its armed forces without a remedy. The aftershocks of the Lebanon war are still not fully digested; neither are its mistakes admitted in Jerusalem.
UNIFIL too, which has committed to defer to the Lebanese government and army in all matters, now finds itself obliged to accept Hizballah’s inflammatory presence under Lebanese army sanction and therefore under its own aegis – another full-circle contradiction of the terms of Resolution 1701.
Syrian-Iranian-Hizballah domination is therefore in the bag. So too is the armament of Syria’s primary helpers in Lebanon, which were first outlined in detail by DEBKA-Net-Weekly of 272 of Oct. 6, 2006:
1. The largest recipients are Syria’s veteran tried-and-true allies, led by the clandestine Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), which is now awash with anti-tank rockets, mortars, heavy machine guns, explosives, automatic rifles and crates full of shells and other ammo. Made up mostly of Greek Orthodox Christians, the sinister SSNP has been a key operational arm of Syrian military intelligence in Lebanon since the 1980s. It is closely allied with Hizballah and various other terrorist organizations.
2. Other major recipients are the Sunni Muslim militias of the northern Lebanese Tripoli district, the Sunni and Christian militias of the al Hakur region northwest of Tripoli, and the Christian Faranjieh Clan of Zgharta, whose lands lie southeast of Tripoli.
3. Then there are the communities who oppose the anti-Syrian factions of Lebanon. One is the Druze following of Majid Arslan, rival of the extreme anti-Syrian Druze chieftain Walid Jumblatt, who not only resists Syrian influence in Lebanon but is daggers drawn against the Asad regime in Damascus.
4. Syria is also rapidly arming the Maronite Christians of Michel Aoun’s Patriotic Movement. Aoun has become the most powerful Lebanese ally of Hizballah’s Hassan Nasrallah and the leading Maronite opponent of Fouad Siniora and his pro-American, pro-French government.
The irony is that in May 2005, the United States and France brought Aoun back from his long Paris exile as their candidate for the Lebanese presidency. Quite soon, they withdrew their patronage; he was left with the choice of quitting politics and Lebanon or transferring his allegiance to the pro-Syrian camp and Hizballah.
He opted for the latter.
5. The Shiite Amal militia headed by the Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri, which in recent years was overshadowed by Hizballah, is now on the receiving end of weapons and training by Syrian and Iranian instructors disguised as civilians.
6. The south is a mix of rival forces. Syria has further stirred the stew by lavishing arms on the Sunni and Christian family militias, the enormously wealthy and powerful Saad and Bizari clans of Sidon, who are adversaries of the Hariri clan and its head, the son of Rafiq Hariri, the Lebanese politician assassinated in February 2005.
A senior Western intelligence source posted in Lebanon told DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s intelligence sources: “Even a cursory survey of the recipients of Syrian arms supplies shows us Bashar Asad scouting for candidates to fight another civil war in Lebanon on his behalf. The most insignificant splinter willing to rally to the pro-Syrian flag is getting a dollop of hardware.”
Asad is clearly in a hurry to capitalize on the setbacks his enemies suffered in the Lebanon war to turn the clock back and restore his stranglehold on his small neighbor by one means or another. A civil flare-up might be headed off by the success of Nasrallah’s scheme to displace the Siniora government and substitute a pro-Syrian administration dominated by his own Hizballah and General Aoun.
Damascus would profit by -
A: An invitation to come riding back into Lebanon for a deeper and broader role than ever before.
B: The humiliation of the United States and France for booting Syria out of Lebanon two years ago.
C: The crowning of Hizballah – and therefore Iran – as victors of the Lebanon war with the last word in this episode.
D. Another knock to Israel’s standing and reputation.
E. The European peacekeepers would be sent packing without further ado by the pro-Syrian government in Beirut.
For the time being, it is hard to see Ehud Olmert, his ministers and chief of staff, whose performance in the Lebanon was sorely wanting, finding their way out of the thickets which have sprung up in its aftermath.

UNIFIL too, which has committed to defer to the Lebanese government and army in all matters, now finds itself obliged to accept Hizballah’s inflammatory presence under Lebanese army sanction and therefore under its own aegis – another full-circle contradiction of the terms of Resolution 1701.
Syrian-Iranian-Hizballah domination is therefore in the bag. So too is the armament of Syria’s primary helpers in Lebanon, which were first outlined in detail by DEBKA-Net-Weekly of 272 of Oct. 6, 2006:
1. The largest recipients are Syria’s veteran tried-and-true allies, led by the clandestine Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), which is now awash with anti-tank rockets, mortars, heavy machine guns, explosives, automatic rifles and crates full of shells and other ammo. Made up mostly of Greek Orthodox Christians, the sinister SSNP has been a key operational arm of Syrian military intelligence in Lebanon since the 1980s. It is closely allied with Hizballah and various other terrorist organizations.
2. Other major recipients are the Sunni Muslim militias of the northern Lebanese Tripoli district, the Sunni and Christian militias of the al Hakur region northwest of Tripoli, and the Christian Faranjieh Clan of Zgharta, whose lands lie southeast of Tripoli.
3. Then there are the communities who oppose the anti-Syrian factions of Lebanon. One is the Druze following of Majid Arslan, rival of the extreme anti-Syrian Druze chieftain Walid Jumblatt, who not only resists Syrian influence in Lebanon but is daggers drawn against the Asad regime in Damascus.
4. Syria is also rapidly arming the Maronite Christians of Michel Aoun’s Patriotic Movement. Aoun has become the most powerful Lebanese ally of Hizballah’s Hassan Nasrallah and the leading Maronite opponent of Fouad Siniora and his pro-American, pro-French government.
The irony is that in May 2005, the United States and France brought Aoun back from his long Paris exile as their candidate for the Lebanese presidency. Quite soon, they withdrew their patronage; he was left with the choice of quitting politics and Lebanon or transferring his allegiance to the pro-Syrian camp and Hizballah.
He opted for the latter.
5. The Shiite Amal militia headed by the Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri, which in recent years was overshadowed by Hizballah, is now on the receiving end of weapons and training by Syrian and Iranian instructors disguised as civilians.
6. The south is a mix of rival forces. Syria has further stirred the stew by lavishing arms on the Sunni and Christian family militias, the enormously wealthy and powerful Saad and Bizari clans of Sidon, who are adversaries of the Hariri clan and its head, the son of Rafiq Hariri, the Lebanese politician assassinated in February 2005.
A senior Western intelligence source posted in Lebanon told DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s intelligence sources: “Even a cursory survey of the recipients of Syrian arms supplies shows us Bashar Asad scouting for candidates to fight another civil war in Lebanon on his behalf. The most insignificant splinter willing to rally to the pro-Syrian flag is getting a dollop of hardware.”
Asad is clearly in a hurry to capitalize on the setbacks his enemies suffered in the Lebanon war to turn the clock back and restore his stranglehold on his small neighbor by one means or another. A civil flare-up might be headed off by the success of Nasrallah’s scheme to displace the Siniora government and substitute a pro-Syrian administration dominated by his own Hizballah and General Aoun.
Damascus would profit by -
A: An invitation to come riding back into Lebanon for a deeper and broader role than ever before.
B: The humiliation of the United States and France for booting Syria out of Lebanon two years ago.
C: The crowning of Hizballah – and therefore Iran – as victors of the Lebanon war with the last word in this episode.
D. Another knock to Israel’s standing and reputation.
E. The European peacekeepers would be sent packing without further ado by the pro-Syrian government in Beirut.
For the time being, it is hard to see Ehud Olmert, his ministers and chief of staff, whose performance in the Lebanon was sorely wanting, finding their way out of the thickets which have sprung up in its aftermath.

Pope to visit Turkey despite row
The Vatican has confirmed that Pope Benedict XVI will travel to Turkey in November, his first visit to a predominantly Muslim country.
The Pontiff will visit Ankara, Izmir, Istanbul and ancient Ephesus during the trip, which will begin on 28 November.
The trip has been overshadowed by a row over remarks he made about Islam.
Muslims were angered when the Pope quoted a 14th Century Christian emperor who said the Prophet Mohammed had brought only "evil and inhuman" things.
In the speech at Regensburg University in September, Pope Benedict explored the historical and philosophical differences between Islam and Christianity, and the relationship between violence and faith.
Stressing that they were not his own words, he quoted Emperor Manuel II Paleologos of the Byzantine Empire, the Orthodox Christian empire which had its capital in what is now the Turkish city of Istanbul.
The speech sparked several days of protests in Muslim countries and calls for an unequivocal apology.
In response the Pope said that the remarks had been "misunderstood" and that he regretted the reaction they had caused.
The visit, which will run until 1 December, is the result of an official invite by the Turkish government.
The Pontiff will begin his tour with a one-night stay in Ankara, capital of the officially secular state. The second night will be spent in Ephesus - home to an ancient Christian community.

Turkish PM admitted to hospital
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been admitted to hospital after suffering a drop in blood sugar, his spokesman says.
Mr Erdogan is in "a quite good condition" and he is not expected to stay in hospital overnight, spokesman Akif Beki told the AFP news agency.
Local television media reported the premier was taken to hospital after he had difficulty opening a car door.
Mr Erdogan had been due to address his ruling Justice and Development Party.

Official: Fake NFL threat competition between two men

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (CNN) -- A law enforcement official told CNN that a man has admitted he posted a fake bomb threat against National Football League stadiums in major U.S. cities as part of an Internet competition with a person in Texas to create the scariest terror scenario possible.
The official told CNN that it's too early to say whether the man will be charged.
The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security had earlier determined that the threat was a hoax, FBI spokesman Richard Kolko told CNN Thursday.
Earlier Thursday, the FBI interviewed and released a 20-year-old Milwaukee, Wisconsin, man after his friend came forward with information about the online posting of a threat against NFL stadiums.
An FBI source told CNN that agents do not believe the man has any connections to terrorism, but do believe he was involved in making the threat.
The DHS this week sent an advisory to the National Football League and local officials describing a possible uncorroborated threat against some NFL stadiums.
The threat, posted on a Web site, alleged that bombs could be used this weekend against stadiums in New York; Miami, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Seattle, Washington; Houston, Texas; Oakland, California; and Cleveland, Ohio. The posting said the bombs were to be delivered by truck.
The DHS said earlier the posting was not considered credible, and that the information was being shared only out of caution so that league officials and others could determine what steps to take.

Syria 'to release' dissident Kilo
Syria has ordered the release of dissident Michel Kilo five months after his arrest, a supporter says.
"A copy of the decision to set Kilo free is with us. He will be with his family this evening," opposition figure Hassan Abdul Azim said.
A judge granted Mr Kilo bail five months after his arrest for demanding Syria establish normal diplomatic ties with Lebanon.
The authorities have not confirmed the release of Mr Kilo, a prominent writer.
He was one of 10 dissidents detained in May for signing a petition calling for changes in Syria's trouble relations with its smaller neighbour.
The only other one still believed to be in custody is the well-known human rights lawyer Anwar al-Bunni.
Hundreds of Syrian and Lebanese intellectuals signed the document, which was published in May in the Lebanese newspaper Nahar.
It called on Syria to release all Lebanese political detainees, while underlining the need to "respect and consolidate the sovereignty and independence of Lebanon and Syria" in the face of "Israeli aggression and American hegemony".
Syria frequently arrests human rights activists and others who publicly criticise government policies.
Humans rights group Amnesty International says several hundred political prisoners are detained in Syrian jails, where they risk torture and ill-treatment.

Another of his outrageous speeches was delivered Friday to a pro-Palestinian rally marking the Islami Republic’s “al Qods Day” (Jerusalem Liberation Day). In further inflammatory remarks, Ahmadinejad said “the world knows the US and Britain are enemies of the Iranian nation.” He warned European nations not to harm Iran, saying that if anger in the region boiled over, Europe would get hurt because of its support for Israel. “Europe must distance itself from Israel at once. That is Iran’s ultimatum. “He went on to brand the UN Security Council and its decisions “illegitimate.”
DEBKAfile adds: These words amounted to an Iranian threat of harm to the European UN forces deployed in Lebanon unless they left forthwith.
His harsh words followed two events: one, the Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert’s statement in Moscow this week after he met with Russian leaders: “They need to fear that something that they do not want to happen will happen. In no case, Olmert stressed, “will we reconcile with nuclear arms in Iranian hands. There is no margin for error here.”
The other event was the arrival in the Persian Gulf of the giant US carrier Iwo Jima with its Expeditionary Strike Group to join the American naval, air and marine might piling up opposite Iran’s shores.
Next week too, the Security Council convenes to discussion a form of sanctions against Iran for refusing to desist from enriching uranium.

Iran warns of revenge over Israel
Iran's president has warned that Muslims around the world will take revenge on states who supported Israel against the Palestinians.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad again questioned the extent of the Holocaust, when German Nazis murdered six million Jews.
Israel was founded on "claims about the Holocaust" for which the Palestinians were paying the price, he told a rally.
He was speaking on Jerusalem Day, when there are large demonstrations in Iran in support of the Palestinians.
BBC Tehran correspondent Frances Harrison says the tone of the speech was hardline, even by Mr Ahmadinejad's standards.
Implicit threat
Mr Ahmadinejad called Israel's leaders a "group of terrorists" and appeared to threaten any country that supports it.
"You imposed a group of terrorists... on the region. It is in your own interest to distance yourself from these criminals... This is an ultimatum. Don't complain tomorrow."
The "ultimatum" was directed at European states in particular.
"We have advised the Europeans that the Americans are far away, but you are the neighbours of the nations in this region," Mr Ahmadinejad said.
"We inform you that the nations are like an ocean that is welling up, and if a storm begins, the dimensions will not stay limited to Palestine, and you may get hurt."
'Israeli insecurity'
Mr Ahmadinejad said Israel no longer had any reason to exist and would soon disappear. "This regime, thanks to God, has lost the reason for its existence. Efforts to stabilise this fake regime, by the grace of God, have completely failed."
Mr Ahmadinejad said: "Even if we assume the Holocaust is true, then why should the Palestinians pay the price for it."
He said millions of Israelis should go back to their countries of origin.
Mr Ahmadinejad said Lebanese Hezbollah militants had shattered the myth of Israel's military power, so that "Zionists" in their homes in various corners of the world, could not now enjoy security.
The Iranian president has regularly questioned the extent of the Holocaust, and been a trenchant critic of Israel.
In 2004 he drew widespread and angry international criticism when he approvingly quoted comments by Ayatollah Khomeini that Israel's existence should be brought to an end.

"You should believe that this regime (Israel) cannot last and has no more benefit to you. What benefit have you got in supporting this regime, except the hatred of the nations?" he said in nationally broadcast speech Friday.
"We have advised the Europeans that the Americans are far away, but you are the neighbors of the nations in this region," he said.
"We inform you that the nations are like an ocean that is welling up, and if a storm begins, the dimensions will not stay limited to Palestine, and you may get hurt."
Ahmadinejad's comments came on Jerusalem Day -- when Iranians are officially encouraged to show their support for the Palestinians.
These remarks were made a day after Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Iran would "have a price to pay" if it continued down the path of its nuclear ambitions.
Olmert was speaking to reporters Thursday on his way home from a three-day trip to Moscow. Israel, along with the United States and other Western powers, rejects Tehran's claim that its nuclear program is peaceful, designed solely to produce energy.

Anger as new 9/11 remains found
Human remains - some reportedly as large as arm or leg bones - have been found at the site of the 11 September 2001 attacks in New York.
The remains were found in rubble excavated from a manhole near the site of the World Trade Center.
Relatives say the find proves the need for a thorough new search of the area around Ground Zero.
"We can no longer rely on accidental discoveries," said WTC Families for Proper Burial in a statement.
"This must be a deliberate search. May this awful news be the catalyst needed to go back and do the job well."
Families of more than 1,100 of the victims of 9/11 have never received any remains of their loved ones.
The campaign group is to hold a news conference over the latest discovery later on Friday.
Abandoned site
The material excavated from the manholes was removed from the site without anyone noticing it contained the remains, said utility company Consolidated Edison.
On Thursday, the Port Authority contractor spotted the remains, the Associated Press news agency said.
Some of the remains were as big as arm or leg bones, Steve Coleman, a spokesman for the Port Authority, was quoted by AP as saying.
Construction workers have been instructed to look for human remains and notify the medical examiner's office when they find them.
"No official identifications have been made at this time and the New York City Police Department and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are heading up the investigation," said Patrick J Brennan of the Mayor's Community Assistance Unit was quoted by the AP news agency.
The discovery comes just weeks after the fifth anniversary of the attacks.
Earlier this year, construction workers in New York discovered 74 bone fragments from 9/11 victims. The remains were found mixed in with roofing material at the condemned Deutsche Bank building, which stands next to Ground Zero.

Turkish troops arrive in Lebanon
A group of nearly 100 Turkish soldiers and engineers has arrived in Lebanon's capital, Beirut, to help reinforce the UN peacekeeping mission in the south.
The Turkish troops are expected to be involved in reconstruction and de-mining work following the 34-day conflict between Hezbollah and Israel.

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice threw cold water on reports that in talks with Chinese special envoy Tang Jiaxuan, North Korean leader Kim Jong-il had regretted the first nuclear test carried out on Oct. 9 and promised not to test again. Reporting on her own Beijing talks on the way to Moscow, Rice said “Tang did not tell me that Kim Jong-il either apologized or said he would never test again” in his “fairly thorough briefing” to her on his Pyongyang mission. The North Koreans, she said, “would like to see an escalation of the tension.” She described their tone as still being belligerent.
Moscow is the last stop in the US secretary’s five-day Asian trip which included Tokyo and Seoul to strengthen the sanctions the UN imposed on North Korea for its nuclear test.

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (CNN) -- A law enforcement official told CNN that a man has admitted he posted a fake bomb threat against National Football League stadiums in major U.S. cities as part of an Internet competition with a person in Texas to create the scariest terror scenario possible.
The official told CNN that it's too early to say whether the man will be charged.
The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security had earlier determined that the threat was a hoax, FBI spokesman Richard Kolko told CNN Thursday.
Earlier Thursday, the FBI interviewed and released a 20-year-old Milwaukee, Wisconsin, man after his friend came forward with information about the online posting of a threat against NFL stadiums.
An FBI source told CNN that agents do not believe the man has any connections to terrorism, but do believe he was involved in making the threat.
The DHS this week sent an advisory to the National Football League and local officials describing a possible uncorroborated threat against some NFL stadiums.
The threat, posted on a Web site, alleged that bombs could be used this weekend against stadiums in New York; Miami, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Seattle, Washington; Houston, Texas; Oakland, California; and Cleveland, Ohio. The posting said the bombs were to be delivered by truck.
The DHS said earlier the posting was not considered credible, and that the information was being shared only out of caution so that league officials and others could determine what steps to take.

Syria 'to release' dissident Kilo
Syria has ordered the release of dissident Michel Kilo five months after his arrest, a supporter says.
"A copy of the decision to set Kilo free is with us. He will be with his family this evening," opposition figure Hassan Abdul Azim said.
A judge granted Mr Kilo bail five months after his arrest for demanding Syria establish normal diplomatic ties with Lebanon.
The authorities have not confirmed the release of Mr Kilo, a prominent writer.
He was one of 10 dissidents detained in May for signing a petition calling for changes in Syria's trouble relations with its smaller neighbour.
The only other one still believed to be in custody is the well-known human rights lawyer Anwar al-Bunni.
Hundreds of Syrian and Lebanese intellectuals signed the document, which was published in May in the Lebanese newspaper Nahar.
It called on Syria to release all Lebanese political detainees, while underlining the need to "respect and consolidate the sovereignty and independence of Lebanon and Syria" in the face of "Israeli aggression and American hegemony".
Syria frequently arrests human rights activists and others who publicly criticise government policies.
Humans rights group Amnesty International says several hundred political prisoners are detained in Syrian jails, where they risk torture and ill-treatment.

In further inflammatory remarks, Ahmadinejad said “the world knows the US and Britain are enemies of the Iranian nation.” He warned European nations not to harm Iran, saying that if anger in the region boiled over, Europe would get hurt because of its support for Israel. “Europe must distance itself from Israel at once. That is Iran’s ultimatum. “He went on to brand the UN Security Council and its decisions “illegitimate.”
DEBKAfile adds: These words amounted to an Iranian threat of harm to the European UN forces deployed in Lebanon unless they left forthwith.
His harsh words followed two events: one, the Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert’s statement in Moscow this week after he met with Russian leaders: “They need to fear that something that they do not want to happen will happen. In no case, Olmert stressed, “will we reconcile with nuclear arms in Iranian hands. There is no margin for error here.”
The other event was the arrival in the Persian Gulf of the giant US carrier Iwo Jima with its Expeditionary Strike Group to join the American naval, air and marine might piling up opposite Iran’s shores.
Next week too, the Security Council convenes to discussion a form of sanctions against Iran for refusing to desist from enriching uranium.

Iran warns of revenge over Israel
Iran's president has warned that Muslims around the world will take revenge on states who supported Israel against the Palestinians.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad again questioned the extent of the Holocaust, when German Nazis murdered six million Jews.
Israel was founded on "claims about the Holocaust" for which the Palestinians were paying the price, he told a rally.
He was speaking on Jerusalem Day, when there are large demonstrations in Iran in support of the Palestinians.
BBC Tehran correspondent Frances Harrison says the tone of the speech was hardline, even by Mr Ahmadinejad's standards.
Implicit threat
Mr Ahmadinejad called Israel's leaders a "group of terrorists" and appeared to threaten any country that supports it.
"You imposed a group of terrorists... on the region. It is in your own interest to distance yourself from these criminals... This is an ultimatum. Don't complain tomorrow."
The "ultimatum" was directed at European states in particular.
"We have advised the Europeans that the Americans are far away, but you are the neighbours of the nations in this region," Mr Ahmadinejad said.
"We inform you that the nations are like an ocean that is welling up, and if a storm begins, the dimensions will not stay limited to Palestine, and you may get hurt."
'Israeli insecurity'
Mr Ahmadinejad said Israel no longer had any reason to exist and would soon disappear. "This regime, thanks to God, has lost the reason for its existence. Efforts to stabilise this fake regime, by the grace of God, have completely failed."
Mr Ahmadinejad said: "Even if we assume the Holocaust is true, then why should the Palestinians pay the price for it."
He said millions of Israelis should go back to their countries of origin.
Mr Ahmadinejad said Lebanese Hezbollah militants had shattered the myth of Israel's military power, so that "Zionists" in their homes in various corners of the world, could not now enjoy security.
The Iranian president has regularly questioned the extent of the Holocaust, and been a trenchant critic of Israel.
In 2004 he drew widespread and angry international criticism when he approvingly quoted comments by Ayatollah Khomeini that Israel's existence should be brought to an end.

TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned Europe that it may pay a heavy price for its support of Israel.
"You should believe that this regime (Israel) cannot last and has no more benefit to you. What benefit have you got in supporting this regime, except the hatred of the nations?" he said in nationally broadcast speech Friday.
"We have advised the Europeans that the Americans are far away, but you are the neighbors of the nations in this region," he said.
"We inform you that the nations are like an ocean that is welling up, and if a storm begins, the dimensions will not stay limited to Palestine, and you may get hurt."
Ahmadinejad's comments came on Jerusalem Day -- when Iranians are officially encouraged to show their support for the Palestinians.
These remarks were made a day after Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Iran would "have a price to pay" if it continued down the path of its nuclear ambitions.

The event is particularly interesting because both the Earth and the Moon can often be seen together in transit; however, sometimes one finishes transiting before the other begins (this last occurred in the 1800 transit, and will happen again in 2394).
No one has ever seen a transit of Earth from Mars, but the next one will take place on November 10, 2084, and could be observed by hypothetical future Mars colonists. The last such transit took place on May 11, 1984.

Mercury - the Messenger God
The root of the idea of Mercury lies in Greek mythology with the messenger god, Hermes. The Romans, whose culture was in many ways derivative of the Greeks, borrowed the old stories and myths from the Greek God Hermes and laid them on top of their own similar god, Mercury. The process by which this was done is now shrouded somewhat by the mists of time, suffice it to say that these two names came to be recognized as designating one and the same mythical being.
Mercury was one of the most popular of the ancient deities and was featured in many stories. He is supposed to have killed Argus on the orders of Zeus, by lulling him to sleep and then chopping off his head. He assisted Odysseus in his travels as that wanderer returned from the siege of Troy. It is interesting to note that Mercury generally does not act on his own, but at the behest of some other god. He acts for his brother Apollo in saving the life of his child. Zeus often sends him to deliver dreams or to travel with a mortal to help keep him or her safe. This keeps him in accord with his mythical function as messenger.
The way gods are handled in ancient myth does vary somewhat by storyteller and tale. However, the basic functions and personalities of gods treated in these stories remains relatively consistent. For example, in most myths we find the gods interfering directly in the affairs of humans largely without disguise. But in the Iliad, which is the Homeric story of the siege of Troy, we find the gods act in the guise of particular people, who are actually named. For example, in the famous scene where Priam goes to Achilles to beg for the return of the body of his slain son, Hector, the old king is guided by Mercury, but Mercury appears in the form of Polyctor, a soldier of Achilles. Hermes reveals himself, but he is also recognized by his kindness and a kind of aura surrounding him that protects Priam as he rides through the Greek army in a chariot loaded with treasures.
The Iliad is replete with such interferences by the gods standing in the place of men. This way of giving the gods representation in the story might stem from the fact that the siege of Troy, though a heroic and ancient story, is based on factual occurrences. When the story was told and retold, there were people listening who had been at the battle or at least they had heard stories from ancestors who had been there. The storyteller (Homer) had to trim his metaphorical sails a bit closer to the truth than the myth makers of a previous age, but still make allowances for circumstances that seemed fortuitous.
The messenger god is generally described as wearing the clothes of a sheepherd. He has winged sandals and sometimes a winged hat. He generally carries the caduceus which is a staff entwined with two snakes. The symbol for Mercury is shown at right. It may represent the caduceus staff or the circle might be Mercury's head and the two "horns" might be the wings on his head.
Mercury was the son of Jupiter (king of the gods), the result of an illicit union with Maia, goddess of the clouds (as well as one of the Pleiades). His many adventures and his assignment as guide of the dead to Hades, made him the patron god of travellers. But his tricks also made him patron of thieves. The Romans also made him god of merchants and he lent his name to "mercantilism". Wednesday was his day of the week. This day the Romans called "Mercurii dies", which survives in the names for that day in many of the Romance languages, such as the Spanish, "miércoles". We also find Mercury lending his fame, in a "mercurial" manner, to a number of other objects...

The Romans, whose culture was in many ways derivative of the Greeks, borrowed the old stories and myths from the Greek God Hermes and laid them on top of their own similar god, Mercury. The process by which this was done is now shrouded somewhat by the mists of time, suffice it to say that these two names came to be recognized as designating one and the same mythical being.
Mercury was one of the most popular of the ancient deities and was featured in many stories. He is supposed to have killed Argus on the orders of Zeus, by lulling him to sleep and then chopping off his head. He assisted Odysseus in his travels as that wanderer returned from the siege of Troy. It is interesting to note that Mercury generally does not act on his own, but at the behest of some other god. He acts for his brother Apollo in saving the life of his child. Zeus often sends him to deliver dreams or to travel with a mortal to help keep him or her safe. This keeps him in accord with his mythical function as messenger.
The way gods are handled in ancient myth does vary somewhat by storyteller and tale. However, the basic functions and personalities of gods treated in these stories remains relatively consistent. For example, in most myths we find the gods interfering directly in the affairs of humans largely without disguise. But in the Iliad, which is the Homeric story of the siege of Troy, we find the gods act in the guise of particular people, who are actually named. For example, in the famous scene where Priam goes to Achilles to beg for the return of the body of his slain son, Hector, the old king is guided by Mercury, but Mercury appears in the form of Polyctor, a soldier of Achilles. Hermes reveals himself, but he is also recognized by his kindness and a kind of aura surrounding him that protects Priam as he rides through the Greek army in a chariot loaded with treasures.
The Iliad is replete with such interferences by the gods standing in the place of men. This way of giving the gods representation in the story might stem from the fact that the siege of Troy, though a heroic and ancient story, is based on factual occurrences. When the story was told and retold, there were people listening who had been at the battle or at least they had heard stories from ancestors who had been there. The storyteller (Homer) had to trim his metaphorical sails a bit closer to the truth than the myth makers of a previous age, but still make allowances for circumstances that seemed fortuitous.
The messenger god is generally described as wearing the clothes of a sheepherd. He has winged sandals and sometimes a winged hat. He generally carries the caduceus which is a staff entwined with two snakes. The symbol for Mercury is shown at right. It may represent the caduceus staff or the circle might be Mercury's head and the two "horns" might be the wings on his head.
Mercury was the son of Jupiter (king of the gods), the result of an illicit union with Maia, goddess of the clouds (as well as one of the Pleiades). His many adventures and his assignment as guide of the dead to Hades, made him the patron god of travellers. But his tricks also made him patron of thieves. The Romans also made him god of merchants and he lent his name to "mercantilism". Wednesday was his day of the week. This day the Romans called "Mercurii dies", which survives in the names for that day in many of the Romance languages, such as the Spanish, "miércoles". We also find Mercury lending his fame, in a "mercurial" manner, to a number of other objects...

As already explained several times here, there are exactly 6 Mars years in Earth days between 9/11 and the end of the Mayan Calender on December 21, 2012 ( that period Golden Mean Phi base outspiralling gives 6666 :!: ). In other words, Mars will be on the same spot in it's orbit around the sun at the end of the Mayan Calender as Mars was at the moment of the 9/11 attacks.
We have already seen this odd 'coincidence' of Mercury being on the same spot during the coming Mercury Passage on November 8 as Mercury was located during the last Venus Passage in June 2004

The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower, and its accompanying carrier strike group, passed through the Suez Canal on Monday, Oct. 30, and arrived in the Red Sea on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
DEBKAfile’s military sources report that the USS Eisenhower is at sea off the Saudi Arabian coast, together with another aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise. The presence of the two US aircraft carriers, and their accompanying strike groups, in a body of water as small as the Red Sea is an extraordinary development.
So far there have been no indications that the USS Eisenhower arrived to replace the USS Enterprise.
US Intelligence director John Negroponte also is in the region. He was in Saudi Arabia over the weekend and in Cairo on Tuesday, and is due to arrive in Israel on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
With the arrival of the USS Eisenhower in the region, there are now three US aircraft carriers in the Persion Gulf and surrounding waters, including the USS Iwo Jima. US issues Lebanon 'plot' warning
The United States has said there is "mounting evidence" that Syria, Iran and Hezbollah are planning to topple the Lebanese government.
The White House said Syria hoped to stop the formation of an international tribunal to try suspects in the killing of former Lebanese PM Rafik Hariri.
Spokesman Tony Snow said any attempt to destabilise the Lebanese government would violate UN resolutions.
Syria's ambassador to the US rejected the allegations as "ridiculous".
A UN team has been investigating who was behind Mr Hariri's death in 2005.
Hezbollah demand
The BBC News website's world affairs correspondent Paul Reynolds says the White House statement appears to result from the tense situation in Lebanon, where Hezbollah is demanding one third of cabinet seats, thereby giving it a veto over decisions.
Such a veto would enable it to block approval of the international tribunal to try suspects in Mr Hariri's assassination, our correspondent says.
The Hezbollah leader, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, has threatened street demonstrations in support of his demand.
The US is concerned that this instability could result in the fall of the government of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.
The statement also casts doubt on any willingness by the Bush administration to consider Syria and Iran as potential partners over the future of Iraq, an idea that the Baker commission on Iraq is expected to suggest, our correspondent adds.

The White House said it was "increasingly concerned by mounting evidence that the Syrian and Iranian governments, Hezbollah, and their Lebanese allies are preparing plans to topple Lebanon's democratically-elected government.
"There are indications that one goal of the Syrian plan is to prevent the current Lebanese government from approving the statute for an international tribunal that would try those accused of involvement in former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri's assassination," the statement continued.
But the Syrian ambassador to the US, Imad Moustapha, told the BBC's Newshour programme that the allegations were "ridiculous, verging on the silly".
"It's a shame that the United States, a world superpower, would belittle itself to such petty politics. Let's be clear about this. Today, in Lebanon, there is a domestic political bickering. This is a purely Lebanese issue.
"We, in Syria, respect the sovereignty of Lebanon, we are not interfering on this, and we call on the United States to follow suit and not to interfere in Lebanese domestic issues," Mr Moustapha said.
In March, the UN Security Council approved the formation of an international tribunal that would try those accused of involvement in the murder of Mr Hariri.
The UN sent a draft plan for the tribunal to Lebanese authorities on 21 October but it has yet to be approved of by Lebanon's cabinet and parliament or by the UN Security Council.
Mr Hariri was killed on 14 February 2005, along with 20 others in a massive blast on Beirut's seafront.
UN investigators said in September they had found new evidence that he was probably killed by a suicide bomber.
The assassination has been widely blamed on Syria, but Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has repeatedly denied that his country had anything to do with the killing.

US' Lebanon plot claim rejected
Syria and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah have rejected US accusations that they are seeking to topple the Lebanese government with Iran's help.
Damascus denounced US "rumours", while Hezbollah accused the US of using Lebanon as a tool against its enemies.
The White House said on Wednesday it had "mounting evidence" of a plan to unseat the government in Beirut.
The US believes Syria may try to block the formation of a tribunal over the killing of Lebanese ex-PM Rafik Hariri.
Washington did not present any evidence, saying it was classified.
'Washington's battle'
"The latest American position is a blatant interference in a Lebanese internal affair concerning the Lebanese people's choices over their government and policies," Hezbollah said in a statement.
"It is also meant to throw Lebanon into Washington's battle against forces and states that are friendly and brotherly to Lebanon and its people, including Iran and Syria," it said.
Damascus earlier rejected the claims in a foreign ministry statement.
"The rumours put about by the US administration according to which Syria, Iran and Hezbollah are seeking to destabilise the situation in Lebanon are wrong," the statement said.
A Syrian government newspaper described the comments as "pure vilification meant to raise turmoil in Lebanon and cause fallout with Syria."

JERUSALEM (AP) -- Former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was taken Friday to an intensive care unit after his overall condition and heart function deteriorated, a spokesman for the hospital said Friday.
Sharon, who has been in a coma since suffering a major stroke in January, contracted a new infection that affected his heart, said David Weinberg, a spokesman for the Sheba Medical Center outside Tel Aviv.
"At this point, his condition is stable," Weinberg said.
Experts have speculated that because of the severity of his stroke, Sharon, Israel's prime minister from 2001 to 2006, is unlikely to recover. (Timeline)
The former prime minister, 78, has undergone several extensive brain operations to stop cerebral hemorrhaging, in addition to more minor procedures.
Sharon had an initial minor stroke in December and was put on blood thinners before experiencing a severe brain hemorrhage on January 4.

DEBKAfile cites Mualem’s words at a joint news conference in Damascus with Norwegian foreign minister Jonas Gahr Steore Monday, Nov. 6, as an explicit threat of war to be launched against Israel at a time of Syria’s choosing.
The Syrian minister welcomed a debate going on in Israel about whether to resume negotiations with Damascus on the Golan Heights, which Syria lost to Israel in the Six-Day War. He went on to say: “We now have a window of opportunity of several months. If there is no progress, the countdown will begin for a new Syrian-Israeli war.”
On Nov. 3, DEBKA-Net-Weekly 276 revealed that on Oct. 30 British PM Tony Blair had sent his senior political adviser Nigel Sheinwald (picture) on a mission to Damascus, hoping to turn the coming British exit from Iraqi towns round as leverage for a comeback to the Arab world and make up for his failed Iraq policy. One of the items in the British official’s briefcase for his meeting with president Bashar Asad and Mualem was a secret message from Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert: an offer to start peace talks. It was posted through Blair. The Syrian president sent a return message to the British prime minister: Tell Olmert I’m ready to talk.
This move connected with a broader deal: Damascus would break away from its pact with Tehran in return for normal relations with the West. Israel-Syrian talks would kick off this process.
Both parties agreed that the Sheinwald mission and the business they discussed would be kept secret.
No sooner had the British emissary flown out of Damascus, when the Syrians leaked word of his visit together with the Syrian president’s rejection of Olmert’s offer to talk, barring a prior Israeli commitment to cede the Golan.
This was not what the Syrian president had told his British vistor. When Sheinwald arrived in London, he found out that Asad had been stringing him along before killing the Blair initiative stone cold.
All along the Syrian ruler had kept faith with Tehran. He had rolled out his usual line of peacespeak, which is routinely welcomed by European nations and others, to sugar-coat his scheme for a war against Israel with full Iranian military and intelligence backing.
Walid Mualem was more frank. “If Israel is thinking of launching a war next year this is not the way,” he said. He was evidently responding to the Haaretz report of Nov. 11 which quoted the IDF General Staff as expecting a Syrian-Hizballah war to be launched in the summer of 2007.
DEBKAfile’s military sources note that if this reflects their thinking, Israel’s army chiefs are over-optimistic. But many Israeli generals, including the new OC Northern Command, Maj-Gen.Gaby Eisenkott, judge from Syrian and Iranian military preparations that major hostilities could erupt a lot earlier and will try and catch Israel unready.

'Intuïtieve gedachten', 'anticipaties'. Is dat niet veel te subjectief?
Op deze manier kun je toch iedere willekeurige gebeurtenis die in het nieuws komt interpreteren als een 'trigger'?
Wat wil je hier precies mee bereiken?
Ik heb je OP gelezen, maar kan daar ook niet echt uit afleiden wat je nu precies kunt met het Hyper Dimensional Design.
Dit is overigens geen aanval hoor, ben oprecht geïnteresseerd in het design, alleen kan ik nu nog even niet doorgronden wat het praktische nut ervan is. De toekomst voorspellen of iets dergelijks?

Ik weet niet hoeveel je gelezen hebt en of je bekend bent met het materiaal dat verzameld is op het HDDesign forum. Het gaat over het identificeren van tijdsgecodeerde patronen die kennelijk hun oorsprong hebben buiten onze dimensie .
