The story:

2005 will witness the release of Sid Meier's Civilization IV, the latest and coolest installment in the greatest strategy game series of all time. A game of remarkable depth, Civilization IV spans the entirety of human history, from the stone age to the space age. At the start you choose the nation you want to lead. At first, your people are primitive stone-age villagersand its your job to guide their development and research technologies to drive their advancement. They begin by discovering more primitive technologies such as sailing, archery, mysticism, and mining; eventually - if they survive - you will lead your people to the modern era and beyond, becoming the greatest ruler in history.

During the game, you will meet other growing civilizations - the United States, Mongolia, Persia, China, India, France - there are 18, each ruled by famous historical figures. Each civilization has its own special military units and strategies - some are fairly peaceful, while others are expansionists and conquerors. You will battle your foes with a huge arsenal of weapons, beginning with primitive archers and warriors, then catapults, knights and frigates, and eventually with modern tanks, submarines, mobile infantry, helicopter gunships, stealth bombers, and nuclear weapons. However, Civilization IV is more than just a great combat game: you can achieve victory through global conquest, diplomatic cunning, cultural or religious alliances, and technological dominance.

Ik had gisteren een leuke bug:

Ik had een paar steden op een ander continent veroverd. Er was weer vrede, en de 3 steden die ik had veroverd hadden nog geen railroad, en ik wel. Ik had op mijn eigen continent nog een stel werkers over die niets zaten te doen, dus ik stop er 4 in een transport en vaar naar het andere continent. Ik ontlaad ze, en ze gaan alle 4 aan het werk.

Opeens, 1 beurt later krijg ik opeens een werker voor mijn neus die in ZEE staat, precies op de plek waar ik de 4 werkers in mijn transport had gezet. Ik kan em nergens heen bewegen, ook niet naar het land. Dus ik ga eens tellen, en tel mijn 4 werkers op het andere continent vrolijk aan het werk. Dus waar komt die 5e werker nu vandaan?

Ik slim, haal een transport op en zet em onder de werker. En ja hoor, de werker laadt zonder problemen in het transport, en ik kan er mee rondvaren. En ik denk leuk door een bug een 5e werker gekregen te hebben, maar helaas...... Bij natelling van de werkers op het andere continent blijkt er nu dus 1 verdwenen te zijn.

Ik weet nog steeds niet wat er precies is gebeurd... de bewuste werker WAS aanwezig voor enkele beurten op het andere continent, want hij legde een stuk rails aan. Maar zodra ik de "spook"werker op de inlaadplek in een transport stopte verdween ie van het continent.

Geen gratis extra werker dus, maar ik snap nog steeds niet wat er is gebeurd!

Ik probeer ook altijd anderen te "veroveren" met culture. Ik stuur "great artists" naar steden vlak bij de grens zodat ze opeens een zut van 4000 culture krijgen als ik een "great work" maak, en dat helpt behoorlijk bij het overnemen van andere steden doormiddel van de een culturele revolutie in die stad.

Nu kun je het zelf niet veel sturen, maar ik bouw altijd eerst zoveel mogelijk culture in grenssteden, en produceer de militaire macht wel in andere steden en verhuis die units naar de grens.
