Deportivo is the club with the biggest number of incorporations while Real Madrid is the one investing the biggest amount of money. The large presence of South Americans is another thing to emphasise.

134. This is the number of new signings in la liga until Thursday at midnight. The number will be larger since the market close its doors in one week, but it's already possible to make several conclusions. Of this number, 83 are Spaniards and 51 are foreign players. In other words, the 38% of the reinforcements were born outside of Spain. The only two clubs that haven't signed a foreign player are Athletic Bilbao and Recreativo Huelva.

Levante is in the other side of the story, the Valencian club has signed seven foreigners while Atlético Madrid has signed five. Deportivo is the club that has hired more Spanish players (12), Recreativo is also trusting in the 'national product' and they signed nine Spaniards. Curiously the two biggest clubs in the country, Real Madrid and Barcelona, are the only ones that haven't signed Spanish reinforcements, although the Madrilians are near to buy José Antonio Reyes from Arsenal.

Once again, la liga clubs have preferred to sign South American players. The 45% of the foreign reinforcements (23) are coming from that region: Argentina (9), Brazil (7), Uruguay (5), Paraguay (1) and Chile (1). Argentina is the country with more players in the list of foreign reinforcements, Brazil is second on this list and France comes third alongside with Uruguay (5). The curiosity of the season is to see a player coming from Iran (Javad Nekouman- Osasuna).

The club that has signed more reinforcements is Deportivo (14), the three newcomers to Primera are behind the Galicians on this list: Nastic (11), Levante (11) and Recreativo (9). Racing Santander is in the middle with ten new signings, while Getafe is also preparing a new project with nine new faces. The club that has signed less reinforcements is Barcelona with only three new names on its squad.

Depor is the club with more reinforcements, but curiously they are one of the clubs that have invested less money in the market (¤8.94 million). The biggest investment has been made by Real Madrid, Capello's squad has arranged four deals with a total value of almost ¤65 million, including a ¤28 million operation for Diarrá (the biggest so far). Other big deals are the transfer of Van Nistelrooy to Real Madrid (¤15 million), Joaquín to Valencia (¤24 million) and Gudjohnsen to Barcelona (¤12 million). But there's one week ahead, and new transfers could be closed like the one of Reyes to Atlético or Real Madrid.

Other clubs making big investments are Zaragoza and Racing Santander. Los Maños paid ¤8 million for Aimar while the Cantabrians have just reach a ¤4.5 million for the 50% of Rafael Sobís' rights (a new record for the club). Other interesting factor is the age of the players involved in this operations. The youngest one is Javi Martínez (17), Athletic Bilbao paid ¤6 million for him. Meanwhile, the elder reinforcement so far has a familiar face: Enrique Romero who signed for Betis at the age of 35. Other cases are Abbondanzieri (34, Getafe), Lilian Thuram (34, Barcelona), Fabio Canavarro (32, Real Madrid) and Robert Pires (32, Villarreal).

Opmerkelijk dat van Betis, Santander, Levante, Celta en Deportivo nog geen rugnummers te vinden zijn. Meestal brengen ze die toch een tijdje voor de start van de competitie naar buiten?
