Afgelopen nacht op 0:45 lokale tijd (Nederland iis 5 uur eerder) wakker geworden van een aardschok, op zo'n 15 km afstand lag het epicentrum. De beving had volgens de radio een kracht van 3.7 op de schaal van Richter. Mijn aannemer, die er woont, meldde me geen schade toen ik het hem vroeg (hij moest toch al bij mij zijn)

Afgelopen nacht weer een aardbeving ten zuiden van Yogyakarta. Wel een flink stuk meer zuidelijk dan de zware beving van eind mei. Ik ben er wakker van geworden, maar het voelde hier als niet meer dan een aardschokje van een paar seconden.

Het KNMI heeft kort na 11 uur gisteravond in de omgeving van Roermond een lichte aardschok geregistreerd. Die had een kracht van 1,3 op de schaal van Richter.
Volgens het KNMI was de schok zo licht, dat hij door niemand is gevoeld. Vorig jaar zijn in dezelfde regio drie schokken geregistreerd, in het jaar daarvoor één. De sterkste had een kracht van 2,6 op de schaal van Richter. Roermond ligt langs de zogeheten Peelrandbreuk. In 1992 werd de regio getroffen door een zware aardbeving met een kracht van 5,8. Die veroorzaakte een miljoenenschade. De schok werd gevoeld tot in Engeland en Tsjechië. Het was de zwaarste beving die ooit in Nederland is geregistreerd.

EVALUATION
NO DESTRUCTIVE PACIFIC-WIDE TSUNAMI THREAT EXISTS BASED ON
HISTORICAL EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI DATA.
HOWEVER - EARTHQUAKES OF THIS SIZE SOMETIMES GENERATE LOCAL
TSUNAMIS THAT CAN BE DESTRUCTIVE ALONG COASTS LOCATED WITHIN
A HUNDRED KILOMETERS OF THE EARTHQUAKE EPICENTER. AUTHORITIES
IN THE REGION OF THE EPICENTER SHOULD BE AWARE OF THIS
POSSIBILITY AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION.

ROME, Oct 26 (Reuters) - An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale rocked southern Italy on Thursday, sending people running into the streets but causing no known casualties, officials said.
The National Geophysics Institute said the quake was centred deep in the Mediterranean Sea. It was felt in the southern regions of Puglia, Calabria and Basilicata as well as in Messina, Palermo and other cities on the island of Sicily.
The Civil Protection department in Rome said there were no reports of damage or injuries from the quake, which struck at 4:28 p.m (1428 GMT).
"The quake was strong and people ran into the streets," a Civil Protection spokesman said.
Officials added, however, that any damage would be limited because the epicentre of the quake was very deep -- more than 200 km (120 miles) -- below the sea.
"This was very strong but it was also very deep so I don't expect too many problems," said Enzo Boschi, president of the National Geophysics Institute.
The last major earthquake to hit southern Italy was in 1980 when some 3,000 people died. A quake near Messina, Sicily, in 1908 killed between 70,000 and 100,000 people.
Both registered about 7.2 on the Richter scale.

Billy meyers zegt dat in de toekomst wetenschappers een ontdekking zullen doen over de Vesuvius. Billy voorspeld een mega magmakamer onder de gekende magmakamers van de Vesuvius.
Wetenschappers zullen deze ontdekking doen.
Maar goed, ik geef deze reaktie mee. Het verhaal gaat verder, maar dat hou ik voor een ander topic, eentje dat ontopic is.
