Een kleine wijziging in de sterrenrating: een aanvaller naar de vleugel krijgt minder sterren dan hij tot nu toe kreeg. Het is dan ook zinloos zijn sterrenrating in het nieuwe seizoen te vergelijken met die van het afgelopen seizoen.

About myself

First of all, let me tell you something about myself. I'm Maniack28, 20 years old. I'm living in the Netherlands and I'm studying Physics and Astronomy at the Utrecht University. I like rockmusic and I'm playing a lot of Hattrick (and some other computergames like FM and CM).

My team

My team is Kristiansund, named after the birthplace of the famous Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who made Manchester United Champions League winners in 98/99, with a fantastich goal in the 93th minute!

I'm currently in division VI.647 in the Netherlands. I started 1,5 years ago in IX.. promoted to VIII, promoted to VII, promoted to VI, promoted to V... and thats were it ended. I watched my new league closely and saw I had not a single chance. The best a manager can do then, is sell his players and try to make money And thats what I did and now I'm back in VI.

I train scoring... not because you can make the most money out of it.. but because I prefer open and attacking football.

Why do I want to be U-20 coach of Trinidad & Tobago

First of all, one of my heroes is your National Team Manager in real life. You all know him, he brought you to the World Cup: Leo Beenhakker!!!

Second, I would like to spend more time on hattrick. I would like to be challenged. My goal is to use the best tactic against every team. It's so much fun trying to beat a stronger opponent just by using different (and unpredictable) tactics. When I play with my own team, I always check my oppenent a thousand times. His history, his ratings all the way back to the previous season. His mots/pic games, his tactial choices, his specalities.. etc etc

What is my goal with Trinidad & Tobago

You already have a decent database and some nice players. I want pick the best and most usefull players in order to win as many matches as I can. Specialities play a big role in my own team. I want to bring this into Trinidad & Tobago... For example: A striker who is +2 ahead of another striker, but he has no speciality. The second one has unpredictable. Most users/managers would choose the first one... just because he is +2. I wouldn't hesitate to pick the second one. Since events can give you much goals.. and the +2 doesnt really make a big difference!

Communication towards Trinidad & Tobago

As you can see at my club, I write a lot of press statements.. I love doing that. You can influence your oppent by doing that. Also you are keeping your fans happy My statement: Keep T&T updated about whats going on and keep in contact with the whole community of T&T (not just the 1st divison).

Training

Just like the previous U-20 manager: I don't want daytrading, I don't want players on a farm team. The only thing I want is that all T&T players are going to be better, so the whole country benefits from that!

Tactics

As said before: I'm doing everything to beat any opponent. This means I'm using different tactics.. sometimes I even use not supported tactics (2-5-3 for example). Of course you have to gain experience with tactics and that what I will do!

Not yet. I'm a member of the Fok!Federation since I joined. Fok! is the largest community in the Netherlands. It almost has the largest forum of the world (forum.fok.nl). Actually, this does depend on what youth players will be pulled next season. Of course I will try to make the best team and a higher age means better stats (since they are longer trained). But imagine one of the Trinidad & Tobago Pro League Teams pulls an excellent +2 striker, with passable passing and unpredictable speciality. A player like this will immediatly become an u-20 player of Trinidad & Tobago. These YP's are not very common, so in order to give such a player the best threatment it is wise to let him play as most as I can.

3. What is your aim, your goal?

Like I said in my statement: My goal is to win the most matches I can win. You've only won 5 matches in the last 26 games. That ain't much. I want to win more... My biggest aim is to qualify for the U-20 World Cup... same as Leo Beenhakker did with the real Trinidad & Tobago. It's a though job.. I know.. most likely is we won't make it. But if you don't aim high, you never end high!!

4. What do you think you can do better than the previous coach ?

Well... I've seen he has been away for quite a few times. He made bad line-ups due to health problems. I will never ever do that. I'm online for 2 hours (or more) on every day. I'm always making a long term run (for pic and mots) and I'm evaluating every thiny thing of the opponent.

5. How would you communicate between T&T and yourself?


When I become U-20 coach, I will comunicate with most of the active users of T&T. I will post a lot of messages on the forum to keep you updated. I like writing press statements.. so that is going to be no problem!

In order to make the best out of it.. I will need to know the important players of T&T. Since I am not allowed to spam right now, I will do that after I will be elected for U-20 coach. If I won't get elected, my preperations for the next election start right away. So by the time we reach the new elections I will know every ins and outs of T&T

6. How would you be able to manage an upcoming team with only 2 managers ?
I think this question was for someone else who only has 2 managers. Like I said, I will have 1 experienced assistant + 5 scouts. That should be enough

7. What tactics would you use?
Every tactic that has to be used in order to win a game. Ofcourse it depends on your experience with a tactic. But I'm not someone who always plays 3-5-2 for example. I bought an extra defender for my own team lately, so I have the possibility to play 3-4-3 and 4-3-3 ... which is infact a huge benefit.

8. Would you use a tactic where you haven't got any experience with ?
If I'm confident it will work: yes... Else I will try to get some experience in the previous games (if that is possible ofcourse). It depends on who you are playing and in which order. For example => If I can win against an opponent by playing a tactic in a previous game which is lost anyway (by that i mean really lost because the opponent is way stronger), then I will do that in order to gain experience with the tactic. It's all about combining long term tactics with decisions that have to be made on short term.

9. Would you use multiskilled players?

Depends on what players I need. For example => If a team has weak wingdefence I will use strikers with wing and passing and hopefully a nice speciality like unpredictable or quick. Even if this striker is about 1 level lower than the normal striker, it still gives a big benefit.

So the answer is: Yes, but it depends on who we play and when we play them.

10. In what amount do you look at specialities ?

Specialities are (imo) underestimated in hattrick. For example: I've seen lots of teams with unpredictable defenders.. even some teams who are training them. Why the hell you want to train an unpredicatble defender? It only gives you negative events.

People think a speciality isn't really usefull.. but it is... My own team has 7 head specialists right now. I also have a SP player and an unpredictable FTW. The only thing I miss right now is an expensive winger with quick or unpredictable.

Specialities can bring you goals... but can also help prevent goals. I always look at what specialists my opponent has. This is quite usefull, since you can try to anticipate on that!

11. Show us one of you own games where you were not as good as the opponent but you did win because of tactical intelligence.

Take a look at season 16, when I was in VI.568 (18043). I had an average of 150 hatstats... 2 other teams had an average of 165 hatstats. I became champion with 33 points (4 points ahead of number 2).

The fact that I instantly have gone from IX till V, is because I rely on tactics (and specialities). People think training is the only thing in Hattrick, but it isn't. You can win matches with 30 hatstats less, but you have to use the best tactic in order to win!

To give a specific example:

It was a match against a team with an a incredible high defense.. but his attack sucks. Usually he uses counter.. but he tends to forget it sometimes. The thing I tried here was the following: Since he normally uses counter (not this time..) and he has no good attack, I wanted to get a lower midfield than him. This would prevent him getting counterchances.. reducing his chances only to normal. Since he only has a central attack, I tried to get a nice central defense and the rest of my team was put into attacking mode. It worked out.. I won 2-0 even though he didnt play counter (which didnt matter infact, cause if he would he wouldnt had any counterchances). I played pic and boosted my TS


12. Why do you want to be U20 coach and not NT ?

Trinidad & Tobago is an upcoming country. You don't have the best players. U-20 players can still be trained well.. they can be given a huge amount of experience, which will give benefit in NT later. Second, you have a wider amount of players to choose from, which makes it more challenging: Playing that 19 year old striker with formidable + 3 or giving this 17 year old excellent +1 a chance?

Also the outcome of U-20 matches rely more on tactics then NT matches.


13. Would players trained by an excellent coach get advantage or not ?

Depends on the kind of player Like I said, I will not always pick the highest player.. but a player who gets trained by an excellent coach ofcourse has an advantage in training speed.

14. What is a clown? Is it handy for the U20?

A clown is a popular player with good leadership No, imo it isn't usefull. The spot a clown would take is a spot you can better use to put a multiskilled or 17 year old player in. This gives you more choiches when deciding which tactics you would use.

15. Would you let go of your team to fully manage the U20?

I don't think I need to.I have plenty of spare time. But if (and only if)I wouldnt have that time,I would choose for T&T U-20 because i think it is an honor to be U-20 coach for T&T. I will not let you down!!
