Thomas Newman vind ik weliswaar een goede componist, maar geen opvallende. Ik kan niet meteen horen of een soundtrack van hem afkomstig is, in tegenstelling tot bijvoorbeeld Morricone. Dus moet ik het doen met de films waarvan ik wéét dat hij de muziek gemaakt heeft, en dat zijn er maar vier (American Beauty, Shawshank, Green Mile en Meet Joe Black).

"A wonderful comedy! RD is having a very good day and so do I whenever I see this movie. Such characters! You WILL to root for Trotter if not for his band of misfit hanger-onners. And JT does what JT does best. I can't find a single thing wrong with this movie, and it held my attention and completely entertained. I give it a 10."

I have been a regular at the track for 30 years and I recognized every one of the characters in the film. The portrayal of the wealthy loser with the young bimbo was extremely rich. I especially enjoyed the attempt to read the trainer's instructions to get an "inside" tip. "Go fast and win"

Some of the best betting lines I've seen are in this racing/gaming masterpiece.
I recommend this movie to everyone and if you like to gamble or like horseracing you must buy the video.
