Meisje vermist op Aruba #9 - Zoektochten geen resultaat

Yep. Dat denk ik ook. Het zou betekenen dat Jorans eerste verhaal (dat hij haar netjes bij het hotel heeft afgezet) klopt. En ik zou dan niet kunnen verklaren waarom Joran nu opeens iets anders vertelt. Het verklaart wel ineens beter waarom Dompig en co in eerste instantie zo achter de bewakers van het hotel aanzaten. Dit verhaal wijst sterk in die richting. Uiteindelijk heeft de arubaanse politie gezien dat dit niets oplevert en is achter Joran gaan aanjagen. Nog steeds terecht denk ik.

Ik ben vorige week in Aruba geweest en dinsdag bij de lighthouse geweest, daar in de duinen zou ze ergens begraven liggen. Dinsdag was er geen spoor van enig onderzoek of wat dan ook te bekennen, maar naar het schijnt zijn ze woensdag ook pas begonnen.
Toen ze net was vermist hebben de Mariniers die op het eiland gevestigd zijn elke vierkante centimeter van het eiland doorlopen op zoek naar haar, dat hoor je dan weer niet in het nieuws.
De Arubanen denken dat ze gewoon is verdwenen, naar Venezuela ofzo. Dat ligt ook maar op 30km afstand. Verder hoor je op dit moment echt helemaal niks meer in het nieuws daar over haar.

Best gek, ik ben ook in de Carlos 'n Charlies daar uitgeweest. Dacht ook wel dat ze daar zou zijn geweest. Dat is echt een tent voor Amerikanen. Wat trouwens echt geen lieverdjes zijn, veel Amerikanen gebruiken daar drugs.
Ik ben wel benieuwd of de zoektocht al iets heeft opgeleverd, moet nu toch al een week bezig zijn.

Daar komen ze niet nu pas achter. Dat stond in een politierapport dat recent openbaar gemaakt moest worden. Die Joe Tapianico (of zoiets), de advocaat van miss Twitty, de moeder van Nathalee, heeft dat afgedwongen in een rechtzaak.

ik heb het artikel ook gelezen, en dat zei hij dus niet. Hij zei in dat interview dat zijn eerste verklaring was dat hij haar bij het HI had afgezet.

Toen duidelijk werd dat dit niet klopte, heeft hij verklaard dat hij haar op het strand heeft achtergelaten, en dat is volgens Joran de waarheid.

Presentatrice Anniko van Santen is met een cameraploeg naar Aruba afgereisd om een reconstructie te maken van de nacht waarop Natalee Holloway is verdwenen en de dagen daarvoor. Stap voor stap worden de plaatsen waar zij mogelijk gezien kan zijn in beeld gebracht. In de studio heeft presentator Frits Sissing met een woordvoeder van de Politie Utrecht een vraaggesprek over het onderzoek en worden de vragen die het onderzoeksteam aan het publiek heeft bekend gemaakt. Mensen die ten tijde van de verdwijning en de dagen erna op het eiland waren én op enige wijze kennis hebben over haar verdwijning, wordt gevraagd om met informatie naar voren te komen.

Het onderzoeksteam heeft de verwachting dat er personen zijn die belangrijke informatie hebben over de zaak, maar nooit eerder met hun informatie naar voren zijn gekomen. Tipgevers kunnen desgewenst anoniem via telefoon (tegen lokale tarieven) of internet hun informatie kwijt in Nederland en kunnen in het Nederlands, Papiamento en Engels te woord worden gestaan. "Slechts één cruciale tip is nodig om het onderzoek een impuls te geven."

Het is de eerste keer dat een misdrijf uit de overzeese gebieden in Opsporing Verzocht komt. Het programma lost op dit moment naar eigen zeggen dertig procent van de uitgezonden zaken op. De Wereldomroep zendt het programma op 11 april, enkele minuten na de live-uitzending om 21.25 uur in Nederland, ook in Aruba uit op de zender BVN. De uitzending wordt in verband met het tijdsverschil een aantal uren later herhaald op BVN. Het streven is om ook de lokale zenders in Aruba het programma uit te laten zenden. Het programma wordt ondertiteld in het Papiamento.

Deborah I think you said it perfectly well; Natalee's case has had more breaking news than any case in history. The key history is simply not true, they had this from the key history from the students who entered the room at the beginning, it just can't yield any breaking news, there's just no way.

Deborah-
Well Mr Tacopina was pretty excited about it today on satellite news.
:: she plays recording of Tacopina stating "the room key that was issued to Natalee, was used the night she went missing at 3:20 in the morning."

Now maybe that would be significant, but I know she didn't stay in that room alone, isn't that right Beth?

Deborah, I’ll tell you exactly what happened that night, and why the authorities have that information, it's because I pulled it and gave it to them. The hotel didn't have working security cameras, I was panicked when I learned the security cameras were not working and there was no way to prove if Natalee was not back at the hotel. I remember pulling the card key record, it was two or three in the morning when I did that, and I'm the one who gave it to the authorities. The only reason they have it is because I pulled it and gave it to them before I left. There was nothing in the LE files about that, only what I gave to them.

Deborah-
Red, I know you've been looking at how this case was handled. Just the other day on CBS there was this interview with Dompig, he was saying he thought drugs and alcohol could be involved with Natale's disappearance? He also spoke about the latest search of the sand dunes. Hasn't this area been searched before?

Red -
It really has, and we were there in late June or early July. People had gone there at that point and searched over and over and then.a new witness came forward in December and it's taken them until April to act on that witness' tip which they've called very credible.

Deborah -
Who knows about the info coming from the witness? Why are they credible?

Red -
We were told by Dompig that this info came from a credible witness, when they searched this area already; they're searching now nothing was found, and then it comes to this latest bombshell. Tacopina states that he has a witness that says Natalee was in her room that night. What Joe fails to mention is the door was opened at 1:26. If it was opened with Natalee's card key at that time then it blows his client's statement out of the water.

Deborah-
It just shows that these girls were running around, on the last night of their vacation, and in and out getting their suitcases ready to leave the next morning. We've learned that The Netherlands is sending a small contingent to Aruba. Does that strike you as little bit delayed Beth?

Beth-
I'm not really sure, I know that Holland sent four interrogators early on last summer, but to be honest I'm not aware of the new development. I knew they were conducting searches but I don’t know if any of these are real investigators or just searchers.

Deborah-
Next week there will be re-enactment of Natalee's disappearance, the Dutch version of Crime Stoppers, do you think that will prompt anybody to come forward with information?

Beth-
The one positive thing at least it will be airing in Aruba and Holland, it will be a chance to get the reward information out there again, the investigation is still open. That's a good thing, I’m glad they teamed up with America's Most Wanted. Anytime they get the story out there in Papimento or Dutch I think is a good thing, it could be good, so yes I am glad they are doing it.

Beth, do you believe there is someone who knows something who has not yet had contact with ALE ?

Beth-
I cannot believe there's not, one thing I was thinking about the way they're doing this show is they will have new tip lines, which could turn out to be critical because people don't want to call ALE with tips.

Deborah-
If the reward money hasn't prompted anybody or conscience hasn't prompted anybody, why would a new tip line encourage anybody?

Beth-
I can't tell you the endless number of Aruban citizens that were telling me that nobody would call the Aruban tip line, it wouldn't happen. I was always so puzzled about that and why?

Deborah-
Red, do you think the new tip line might reveal something?

Red-
I think it would, the only problem is the delay in doing the entire thing, To put together an Aruban tape and Dutch tape to do a reenactment, then maybe that's what it will take for somebody to do the right thing. It's been over 10 months, the family has gone over everything, it comes to a point when somebody in Aruba says enough is enough, we're tired of tourism going down and somebody will come forward.

The program airs on April 11, we'll be anxious to see what happens. Red, thanks for all your insights into this case as well.

Rita said to Dave what is your reaction? Dave said we e need to clear up a little of this smoke and mirrors problem. Dave said he provided the police with the documents that they are referring to the Hotel keys as a matter of fact. Dave said Beth obtained those immediately upon arrival on the island and then provided him with a copy that he provided to the police. Dave said Joe failed to mention that that same key code was used again at 11:02 am and 11:08 am prior to them leaving to the airport so key number one which we feel liked Natalee used was last used at 8:30 pm the prior night that key was not used again after the trip was over.

In the afternoon hours of Tuesday, DIARIO was able to obtain confirmation of the news on which Monday, DIARIO reporters asked the High Commissioner about, but he refused [to answer] or didn’t want to say anything.

We continued to look for information and it results that Commissioner Gerold Dompig is not at the head of the investigation into the case of Natalee Holloway. Neither is the substitute High Commissioner, now that Mr. Ronny Bernadina is no longer there.

Although it has been heard that there is discontent with Commissioner Gerold Dompig’s handing [of the case], on the other hand it has been heard that there are changes underway in the whole system of districts and commissioners because it’s not good the way it is now.

The way it is, four islands have them [?], and this has not worked. Now, each commissioner will be in charge of one task which they will obtain from the High Commissioner and the Minister also has to be aware of this.

Aside that the case of the young Holloway has brought enough problems within the Public Prosecution, it has also brought problems within the core of the police department.

How sane it is for Aruba to put and removed commissioners on the Natalee Holloway case is not yet known, but the perception is that it is not very good.


This coming Monday, the changes that High Commissioner Bernadina introduced will officially be enacted, but already as of yesterday, they started working on the basis of these changes.


Soon each commissioner will have one task and the issue that each one manages a district will be a thing of the past.

The reorganization did not take a good turn in the police force and now High Commissioner Ronny Bernadina is adapting this in his way.

Maar Dompig is dus van de zaak gehaald. Volgens mij kan dit wel eens een héél lange zaak worden.

Ik lees nu weer dat Dom[ig zegt dat hij niet van de case is afgehaald, ook dat hij geen hoofd meer is van het team maar nog wel woordvoerder.
