Waarom stem je er dan wel op.

Throne of Blood kan ik in meegaan, dat is gewoon een vertolking van Shakespeare.
Maar Lawrence of Arabia gaat over niks meer en minder dan hoe de WO I in het midden-oosten werd uitgevochten. Dat hierbij de persoon van T.E. Lawrence centraal staat is allleen maar logisch gezien de rol die de man in de ontwikkelingen heeft gespeeld.
Braveheart zit ook bordevol veldslagen en gaat over de opstand van de Schotten tegen de Engelsen.
Spartacus heb ik niet gezien.

Wat ik zeg. Ik weet ook niet meer wat ik met dit tournooitje aanmoet.
En waarschijnlijk heb ik gewoon een beetje ander beeld als oorlog als jij. Er is in mijn ogen toch wel een duidelijk verschil tussen een Platoon of Saving Private Ryan en Braveheart of Lawrence of Arabia. Die laatste 2 zie ik niet als oorlogsfilmsfilms. De ene gaat over de opstand van een groep mensen de laatste heeft een aantal veldslagen. Dat is voor mij nog geen oorlog.

Een oorlogsfilm is voor mij een film waar oorlog centraal staat en niet alleen ergens met een subplotje wordt afgerangeerd. En nogmaals, ik noem het gedoe wat er speelt in Lawrence en Braveheart geen oorlog.

Als gezegd: Braveheart is meer een veldslag en Lawrence of Arabia een opstand.

Als je alle films erbij gaat halen waar oorlog een subplotje is kun je zometeen menig James Bond film een komedie gaan noemen. Een oorlogsfilm is een film waarin oorlog centraal staat, niet als subplot.
