Als Armstrong en Ullrick en co het elkaar weer niet lastig gaan maken. Kijk ik er niet van op als weer een Rabo wint. Maar dat geld natuurlijk ook voor andere ploegen met echte klimmers die maken net zo goed kans.

De vluchtersgroep breekt in twee stukken. Posthuma, Brochard en Krivtsov slaan een kloofje met Bortolami, Facci en Sanchez. Bij die laatste drie komt Isasi (Euskaltel) aansluiten. Drie leiders, vier achtervolgers en daar achter het peloton. 40 sec op gr bortolami, 2:50 op peloton
