Crystal Palace and Southampton meet in a relegation showdown on Saturday that will go a long way to deciding which side stays in the Premiership.
West Brom and Norwich will both go down if they lose against Manchester United and Birmingham and the game at Selhurst Park ends in anything but a draw.
The cost of relegation will amount to millions for the unlucky three to face the drop at the end of the season.
Norwich are currently bottom with 30 points with two games left.
They are level on points with West Brom, who were the bottom club at Christmas. No club at the foot of the Premiership at Christmas has ever survived the drop.
Preview: Palace v Southampton
Crystal Palace are in the third relegation spot - 18th - with 31 points, the same number of points as their Saturday opponents Southampton.
Saints have endured a host of relegation dogfights before but have remained in the top flight since 1978.
In our last game, they were absolutely magnificent, so it's a case of raising the roof again
Norwich boss Nigel Worthington
Their manager Harry Redknapp said: "The game at Palace is massive but it is still in our own hands and we have to go there and make sure we do not lose.
"The good thing is we are still alive and fighting and I would have settled for that when I got here."
His Palace counterpart Ian Dowie has called on the fans to lift his side as they bid to avoid the drop just a season after winning promotion.
Ahead of the home tie at Selhurst Park, Dowie said: "The fans have got to keep calm but I want them to be very, very vocal. They have made a huge difference at home."
Preview: Norwich v Birmingham
Norwich, meanwhile, continue their battle for Premiership survival against Birmingham, who are managed by former Canaries defender Steve Bruce.
Should Norwich win on Saturday, it will be their fourth consecutive home victory.
And boss Nigel Worthington, like Dowie, called on the fans to boost their side.
"In our last game, they were absolutely magnificent, so it's a case of raising the roof again," he said.
Preview: West Brom v Man Utd
West Brom host Manchester United for their penultimate game of the season on Saturday.
Among those trying to shine for the midlands club will be former United midfielder Jonathan Greening.
But the Baggies will be without Kieran Richardson, on loan from Old Trafford but ineligible to play.
Greening said: "Kieran has done really well for us since he came here in January and we'll definitely miss him against United."
There are other tussles further up the table that will have major repercussions next season.
Preview: Everton v Newcastle
Everton will clinch fourth place and the final Champions League spot if they win and Liverpool and Bolton drop points.
And the four teams chasing the final Uefa Cup spot all face each other.
Middlesbrough and Tottenham meet at the Riverside, while Aston Villa host Manchester City with seventh place still up for grabs.
Preview: Portsmouth v Bolton
Elsewhere, sixth-place Bolton need just a point at Portsmouth to seal their own Uefa Cup place.
And Arsenal can make certain of second spot with a victory over Liverpool at Highbury on Sunday.
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone...
You'll never walk alone.
