Ash get Vertigo too
Ash have joined the ever-lengthening list of acts supporting U2 in Europe.
The Northern Ireland foursome are confirmed as the main support act for shows in Zurich (18 July), Milan (20th July and 21st July) and Rome (23rd July)
The band are currently touring the US with The Bravery, supporting their album Meltdown. They have also just pulled off a bit of a first - becoming the first band to have music featured on Star Wars merchandise. Their single Clones was chosen by George Lucas to be the title theme to the video game Republic Commando.
Dat is zoooo'n goede band he!!!!![]()
Waarom nou weer niet in Amsterdam!!!!!!!!!

Extra Date For Dublin
U2 will play a third date at Croke Park this summer.
Paul McGuinness has told U2.Com that plans have now been agreed for a third date at Croke Park this June. This follows an agreement with the Gaelic Athletic Association, owners of Croke Park.
The new show will take place on Monday June 27th. The band have already sold out two shows at Croke Park on June 24th and 25th.
"We have resolved the issues with the GAA and are delighted to announce that U2 will play a third show at Croke Park on Monday 27th June," said Paul McGuinness. "The band is very excited to be playing to a quarter of a million people in their home town and we're going to do all we can to ensure that the tickets are distributed fairly.
"Even with the extra 80,000 tickets I know there will be some disappointed fans, such is the demand. We are working on the details of putting the tickets on sale and will announce as soon as we can."
We'll post details about ticket sales on U2.Com as soon as we have them.

quote:City of Blinding Lights Video Shoot
Hello! Hello!
I just got back from the City of Blinding Lights video shoot at GM place in Vancouver. The atmosphere at the shoot was like seeing U2 at a club show. Bono commented "This is like a club show, I hate club shows, except here tonight."
During some of the breaks Bono did the hokey pokey with the crowd. He also did a mock pop idol where he went to each band member and asked them questions. He went up to Edge and asked him if his mother knew he was here and if he was nervous. Edge replied to both questions with a quiet/kid like "yes sir". Then Bono said Edge looked very cute in a beard.
Next he went to Larry and asked him what he wanted. Larry replied "world peace", which drew a huge response from the crowd.
After Larry, Bono went to Adam and asked him why he wanted to be the next pop idol. Adam replied "so I can travel and meet people" which drew an even bigger response from the crowd, so I guess that means Adam is the pop idol.
The band played City of Blinding Lights around 7 times and the video should be a live video with a lot of fans in it. Bono rises out of the crowd at the beginning and the rest is just a straight upi band performance.
After the band had played the song a bunch all of the fans moved to the floor from the seats and they reshot with all the fans on the floor. At one point the camera cut through the crowd the camera was right on me so maybe I will make the video!
After the shoot wrapped up the band played Vertigo and Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own as a thank you for our cooperation in the video.

In the spirit of multi-tasking, we have been designing the stadium version of Vertigo for some time now. Given that we load the show into Brussels in 26 days time, lay persons might be forgiven for thinking that this was a process which had been long completed, but not round here. In the middle of a conversation about a video piece for Zoo Station we somehow ended up entirely redesigning the front end of the stadium stage. Bono was describing the idea he’d had for “a teeny-weeny modification-ette” and I could entirely see his point, so, as he talked about it, I sketched up what the revision might look like. This was officially deemed A Good Idea, but there are many people involved in this process, so we immediately radioed for production manager Jake Berry to break the news to him that pigeons were about to be displaced by feline intruder. Just before Jake arrived at the dressing room I threw the pad and paper into Bono’s lap and said “pretend you drew this…if he thinks I did it, we won’t stand a chance.” Much amusement, but it worked.
