"Hello everyone,
So this will serve as the "official announcement" of
Gridlock's closure.
First off, I want to thank everyone I've had the opportunity
to meet and interact with as a result of Gridlock's music.
Hopefully we will meet again and also stay in touch. And
thank you to all those who have participated in this forum
and expressed such kind words about Gridlock's music over
the years. It was awesome to hear from people who connected
with the music as much as I did.
At this point there is too much separation, and different
projects going in different directions (music and
otherwise), and while noone ever wants to say "never" right
now I can't forsee a time when I will be working with Cadoo
again, so it's time to call it a day.
With that, and for those interested, I've written a personal
retrospective (http://www.5-25.com/gridlock/retro.html)
looking-back over the releases and the years. I will add
pictures as I can find them. There have always been many
requests for what gear has been in my studio for the
Gridlock releases, so I'll finally list the studio
components / per release / as my studio grew, and reached
its peak as "the Mothership" during "Formless".
This year marks the "official release" 10-year mark for
Gridlock, starting from the 95 demo "Sickness". I've
considered going through a box of DAT's and compiling a
web-only release of un-released tracks, demo versions, and
other nonesense. If anyone's interested, please let me
know.

Geen idee of 'ie al genoemd is, maar Vessel - Dreaming in Pairs is een betoverend mooi droomschijfje.

Expandind Records brengt mooie muziek uit. En prachtige platenhoezen, er zijn maar weinig labels die zulke mooie hoezen maken.

Ik heb juist een hekel aan die typische IDM hoezen. Fantasieloos, over het algemeen. Lange sluitertijd + dromerige setting, klaar. Hop, weer een intellectueel ogende hoes af.
Expanding Records is een label dat zichzelf alles behalve een intellectueel imago wil aanmeten. Ikzelf vind het gewoon een fraaie hoes (zeker als vinyl-sleeve), ongeacht het soort muziek wat erop staat. Beetje een Draft 7.30 rip wel . Maar dat Sublight is wel goed bezig tegenwoordig. Binnenkort ook al een nieuwe Datach'i daar.
Het zou leuk zijn als iedereen even zijn IDM top 10/25 post, dan kan ik me een beetje meer in het genre gaan verdiepen. Thanks!

Mja dat wil weleens onduidelijk zijn Sommige nummers zijn net techno, terwijl andere nummers weer tegen de jazz aanzitten (toch, amon tobin ed vallen toch onder de IDM?..en Bonobo bv)
