The Atalanta winger has officially agreed terms with the Serie C1 outfit and will hook up with another former Bergamo man, Inacio Pia.

“I have signed an 18-month contract and my objective is to bring Napoli back to the top of Italian football,” Gautieri told ‘Napoli Magazine’. “Playing for this club is so exciting, as you wouldn’t get 60,000 fans regularly anywhere else in the top flight, let alone Serie C1.”

It’s the second major signing for Napoli this week, as yesterday they captured Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Fontana on a free transfer.

Livorno are close to signing Brazilian centre-forward Paulinho on loan from Juventude. It will cost the Amaranto £210,000 to buy him outright at the end of the season.

Palermo have not given up on their bid for Milan and Arsenal target Maxi Lopez, as they are willing to offer Ernesto Farias to River Plate as part of the deal. Alternatives for the Sicilians include Bologna starlet Mourad Meghni and Atalanta’s Under-21 international Riccardo Montolivo.

Messina are busy securing the squad they already have, as Ivica Iliev will pen an extension tying him to the club until 2008, while Salvatore Sullo’s contract now ends in 2006.

Omdat geen enkele Nederlandse media bron er melding van maakt (ze kakelen toch maar blind elkaar na) en niet iedereen de Italiaanse media volgt, toch maar ff hier:

De voetbalclub Como is gisteren door de rechtbank in Italie failliet verklaard.
De club speelde 2 jaar geleden nog in de Serie A, speelde aan kansloze competitie en degradeerde dat seizoen dan ook naar de Serie B, waarin het zich ook niet wist te handhaven.

Opmerkelijk is dat de rechtbank besloten heeft dat Como de competitie (Serie C1 A) nog wel af mag maken, en daarna dus naar de geschiedenisboeken verdwijnt.

Hoe snel kan je voetbalclub van de Serie A naar faillissement gaan....

Ben benieuwd of onze teams nog nieuwe spelers aantrekken. Misschien dat Sampdoria nog een spits aantrekt in de winterstop.

Doelpuntenmachines he, bij dat Chievo

Fava schijnt overigens zo goed als rond te zijn met Napoli, de volgense de media andere geinteresseerde clubs, Catania en Torino, hebben geen bod uitgebracht, Napoli inmiddels dus wel (bedrag is me onbekend).

Verder waren er de afgelopen dagen veel documentaires en historische voetbalbeelden op SKY en de Rai, o.a. over Diego en Napoli.

Wisten jullie bijvoorbeeld dat bij de UEFA Cup wedstrijd Napoli - Bayern destijds pal buiten het stadion een aardbevingsmeter stond opgesteld en die elke keer enorm uitsloeg zodra de Curva's weer een nieuw gezang inzetten?

M'n zwager zal alles op 1 DVD zetten, als er geinteresseerden zijn, moet je maar ff een berichtje droppen.

Overigens, opvallend is wel het aantal goals door verdedigers en dan met name bij Siena.

Di Canio started his career with the Biancocelesti, the side he supported since childhood and kept in constant touch with even after his move to England, but had a brief spell at Juve when the giants came knocking in 1990.

Despite being linked with a host of big name sides, above all Real Madrid, Totti has never played for another club so far in his career.

However, with the memories of last year’s derby – abandoned due to crowd trouble – still fresh, the Roma man sent out a warning.

“It’s best that we calm the atmosphere when preparing for this game. Thursday night has to be a festival of football and all I want to see is great sport.”

Lazio haven’t won any of the last 10 Rome derbies in all competitions, last earning a 2-1 victory on March 25 2000.
