Tsja zoiets wordt ook mijn lijstje, al staat Scorsese niet zo erg boven de rest, ik zou eerder Kubrick boven de rest zetten...
Pekinpah en Peter Jackson zeggen mij weinig maar John Woo mag er ook in bij mij (vanwege zijn oude hong kong films dan), Oliver Stone vind ik ook zeker goed en dan is er nog Francis Ford Coppola die ook wat excellent films op zijn naam heeft staan.
Nou vooruit Kevin Smith mag er ook in hoor

Today's a good day

Er zijn veel goede regisseurs zoals Francis Ford Coppola, Tarantino, Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese en ga zo maar door. Probleem is dat ik hun films allemaal eigenlijk heel weinig aan vind. Films maken kunnen ze wel, maar ze maken alleen de verkeerde films.

Voor mij zijn de toppers die ook nog eens goede films maken James Cameron, Steven Spielberg, Paul Verhoeven, Richard Donner!

Scrutinizer

Lars von Trier. Vooral om zijn humor en zelfspot. Zag eens een programma waarin hij bij hoge uitzondering een uitgebreid interview toestond. De interviewer bofte, hij was tot beantwoording van al zijn/haar vragen bereid, liet zijn huis annex productieruimte zien. Aan het eind van het heel openhartige interview zei hij met een brede grijns op zijn gezicht dat het nu natuurlijk wel de vraag was of wat hij gezegd had waar was of misschien ten dele, of klinkklare nonsens zou blijken te zijn........ Het bleef daarna heel lang stil........

En natuurlijk ook vanwege The Kingdom, The Idiots

Perfect

Naar mijn mening is Stanley Kubrick een van de beste regisseurs. Waar vele andere goede regisseurs (no offense!) bij een bepaald genre blijven (Hitchcock...?) heeft Kubrick films gemaakt in totaal verschillende genres (horror, comedie, science fiction, film noir, oorlog). En de weinige films die hij gemaakt heeft, staan stuk voor stuk voor genremeesterwerken (2001: A Space Odyssey (SF), Dr Strangelove (comedie), Full Metal Jacket (oorlog). Ook de unieke manier van regisseren (het ongekende perfectionisme) maakt van Kubrick ook een interessant persoon die interessante films maakt.

Onmogelijk te zeggen
Ik heb wel vertrouwen in een film als ik regisseurs als:
David Fincher, David Lynch, Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg, Oliver Stone en Martin Scorsese er onder boven staan.

Zo heb ik bijvoorbeeld weer vertouwen in Mission Impossible 3 (David Fincher) Door deel 2, had ik er eerst niet eens interesse in.
Nu hoop ik op een mooi duister karakter

Maar zo sla ik erg nog een aantal over en dan begin al helemaal niet over de grote klassiekers als inderdaad Hitchcock en Kubrick.
