To come up with this engine, the designers were given a free hand. Compared to the 3-liter version, this engine offers greater power, following an overhaul of the timing, fuel supply and electronics systems. Changes to the crankshaft increased the capacity to 3.2 liters, lengthening the stroke to 78 mm. This was done to obtain not only outstanding performance and high peaks of power output and torque, but also regular, smooth delivery even at low speeds. But other changes were made too: the cooling system has been upgraded, and the transmission has been reinforced with new axle-shafts, while the exhaust ducts have been "tuned" to a new timing system. This engine is also perfect for everyday use. The 250 BHP version is available on the Alfa 156 GTA, Sportwagon GTA and 147 GTA. In addition the 240 BHP version is available on the GTV and Spider MY.

The brand-new 3.2 V6 24v petrol engine is an evolution of the 3.0 V6 engine already available on the sporty GTV and Spider, with power output increased from 220 to 250 BHP at 6200 rpm. Both the 6-speed manual gearbox and the F1-derived Selespeed transmission considerably enhance the engine’s sporting qualities. The car can go from 0 to 100 km/hr in 6.3 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/hr and average fuel consumption in the combined cycle of 12.1 liters per 100 km, figures that sum up the potential of the new GTA, which boasts a torque curve reaching 300 Nm at 4800 rpm, giving thrilling performance for both sporty driving and everyday use.


Exterior

The reappearance of the legend represented by the GTA logo comes with a look that cannot hide the potential of engineering that has undergone an almost complete reworking with respect to the new Alfa 156. The Alfa 156 GTA makes a strong visual impact: new lighting clusters, a pronounced central air intake, redesigned mirrors, front spoiler with enlarged air intakes, new bumpers in the same color as the bodywork and larger fenders accommodating the generous 17" wheels. The result is a beautiful yet aggressive car, one that looks firmly anchored to the road.


Interior



The sporty feel of the exterior styling also carries over into the inside of the car. The passenger cabin of the new Alfa 156 GTA has several features that stress the car’s sporting temperament, such as the wrap-around seats with leather upholstery and with a horizontal pattern on the seat reminiscent of Italian sports car styling of the past, the aluminum pedals and footrest, and the central glove compartment in metalluro.

InteriorThe three-spoke steering wheel (with metalluro inserts) incorporates the radio controls, while the instrumentation on a black background has a new look including a screen for the engine oil temperature on the multi-function display.


Safety



SafetyWhen it comes to safety, the Alfa 156 GTA is fitted with the most sophisticated active and passive safety systems available: ASR anti-skid control, ABS with EBD brakeforce distributor, a more powerful servo-brake and ASR to control the car’s dynamic stability on bends or when braking.
There are six airbags as standard: driver and passenger bags, two side bags and two window bags. In addition, the passengerSafety cabin has been designed as a survival cell, and is protected by anti-penetration bars and controlled deformation zones to absorb impacts.
A car with incredible qualities in terms of stability, road-holding and performance, capable of offering real emotions and putting the thrill back into driving.

ik heb express alleen de motor genomen, omdat de auto niks met het aantal pk's te maken heeft. En zo klopt het wel, kijk maar eens naar SC nummer 5

Dit is met grote voorsprong de mooiste motor in een 'gewone' auto. (om naar te kijken)
