Goeie aankoop voor de Hammersquote:West Ham United have had a £300,000 offer for Malky Mackay accepted by Norwich City.
The Scotland international has already been in talks with The Hammers' Championship rivals Coventry City but the move hit a snag due to a problem at Norwich's end.
But Mackay now has the option of heading to Upton Park after The Canaries confirmed a bid had been accepted.
The Hammers are prepared to stump up an initial fee, with the remainder incumbent upon various factors.
Mackay is now thought to be in talks with the London side, with Canaries boss Nigel Worthington preparing for the defender's departure.
"If the deal goes through, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish Malky the best of luck and to thank him for his contribution to Norwich City," Worthington told the club's official website.
Hammers boss Alan Pardew is keen to strengthen his defence and has already drafted in Calum Davenport on loan from Tottenham.
Pardew will now be hoping he can prove more persuasive than his Coventry counterpart Peter Reid by tempting Mackay to the capital.

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the appointment of Gary Megson as the club's new manager, taking over from Joe Kinnear who resigned in December.
Megson has been out of work since being sacked by West Bromwich Albion in October after revealing he would quit The Hawthorns at the end of this season.
He was a contender for the position at Wolves but has now made his return to management with another Championship side.
Kinnear quit his role at The City Ground last month after less than a year at the helm, with a disappointing start to the season leaving Forest in the relegation zone.
Mick Harford has been in caretaker charge in the East Midlands but Forest have plumped for Megson, who spent a brief spell at the club as a player in the mid-1980s but failed to make an appearance under Brian Clough.
Forest chairman Nigel Doughty outlined the reasons behind Megson's appointment and feels the club could not have waited much longer to unveil Kinnear's successor.
"We felt we had to make a change at this particular time," Doughty told the club's official website.
"If we had left it another five games and remained in the same position in the Championship table, not only would we have found ourselves with a strategy that wasn't working but also one that we could not change.
"It would have been virtually impossible to attract a manager of genuine quality to the club with so few games remaining.
"Moreover, candidates of the quality and track record of Gary Megson only become available very infrequently and we felt this was too good an opportunity for Nottingham Forest to miss."
Doughty also confirmed that Harford will not be staying on at the club, while Des Walker has also been released from the backroom staff.
He added: "I would like to thank Mick Harford for the way he has led the club and conducted himself since the resignation of Joe Kinnear.
"He has brought a refreshing honesty and dignity to the position and I would like to wish him all the best in his future career."
