Ik vind Alexander Kowalski erg vet, en deze draait vanavond in de Poema (voorheen Dansfabriek) in Utrecht. Maar is Kowalski nu echt Techno? Ik dacht zelf van niet, maar zo wordt hij wel neergezet.

Eerlijke techno net zoals de rest van het Kanzleramt-label... hoewel het de laatste tijd wel erg de jazzy kant op gaat... minder.

Lawrence, real name Peter M. Kersten, hails from Germany's rainy north - Hamburg. Already the producer of two wonderful albums for his own Dial imprint and Ladomat (namely 'Lawrence' and 'The Absence of Blight') his growing reputation as one of Germany's hottest new producers hasn't gone unnoticed. Already receiving glowing praise from Kompakt's Wolfgang Voigt amongst a growing following of international admirers, his deep and beautiful orchestrations are finding themselves as equally at home as on his much beloved dancefloor.
As a DJ, Lawrence currently holds down residencies at Hamburg's Golden Pudel Club and Click whilst on his and Carsten Jost's Dial label he has released numerous 12"s under the name of Sten in what might be termed a more minimal techno style. Then there is his Lloyd alter ego whereby he makes abstract hip hop and there is also an 'in progress' ambient guitar project called Bordeaux helmed by Turner, Carsten Jost, Peter and Martin Hossbach, the owner of the Masseundmacht label.
From the opening delicate piano on 'Lost Images' and the deep bass lines and atmospheric melody of his first single 'Swap' to the closing melodic refrains of 'Leave Me Tomorrow', we are gradually drawn into the perpetual twilight of Lawrence's nocturnal world. 'The Night Will Last Forever' perfectly cements Peter's Lawrence incarnation, taking the listener on an emotional melodic journey. His first album on novamute sees a slight change from the label's typical catalogue but undoubtedly one that will be greeted with the enthusiasm and interest it deserves.

Wow....een prachtig minimal/dubby meesterwerkje dat ik al een tijdje op m'n HD had staan en nu pas echt ontdekt heb.... ABSOLUTE aanrader
