On the 22nd Feb 1941, U-147 left Bergen under the command of Reinhard Hardegen and after two and a half weeks arrived at Kiel on 12th Mar 1941.
Reinhard Hardegen hit one ship on this patrol from convoy HX-109.
On 2nd Mar 1941 he sank the Norwegian 4,811 ton Augvald, sailing with convoy HX-109.

Third Sailing - active patrol
U-147 departed under Eberhard Wetjen from Kiel on 16th Apr 1941 and arrived at Bergen on 11th May 1941 after three and a half weeks.
Eberhard Wetjen hit one ship on this patrol.
On 27th Apr 1941 he sank the Norwegian 1,334 ton Rimfakse.

Fourth Sailing - active patrol
U-147 left Bergen under the command of Eberhard Wetjen on 24th May 1941. On the 2nd Jun 1941, U-147 was sunk.
Eberhard Wetjen hit two ships on this patrol, one was from convoy HX-127.
On 31st May 1941 he fatally damaged the British 2,491 ton Gravelines, a member of convoy HX-127.
On 2nd Jun 1941 he damaged the Belgian 4,996 ton Mokambo.
