STREET TRASH
Summary: One of my favorite bad movies
First time I saw this, it was in the theater. By its end, most of the audience had walked out. It was their loss.
You have to be in the right mood for something like this. It helps to have plenty of liquor on hand; I recommend something at least 80 proof. Yes, it's one of THOSE movies.
The gore is over the top, very sick but not too believable. The plot (if you can call it that) is so demented that you cannot take it seriously. The characters are developed just enough to make them repulsive, so witnessing their unpleasant fates is usually funny rather than tragic. Jim Muro's direction is the most professional part of the movie. After this, he went on to work as a steadicam operator on a number of big Hollywood productions. But this is the only one that he actually directed.
This one belongs in the same general category as Blood Diner, Frankenhooker, The Re-Animator, The Toxic Avenger, and The Evil Dead. If you enjoyed those, you'll probably like this one -- after about half a pint. And you may even hope that Muro gets to direct another movie.
