I played RCT3 yesterday on the "Games Convention " in Leipzig
It was fully playable on 5 PC's and was called "70%"-version.
Sound was disabled (or it couldn't be heard because of the noisy shows and crowd around)
I played it for about about 45 minutes in the sandbox-mode and i guess it's really really worth waiting for the final version!
Here some of my first impressions:
*It plays exactly like RCT1/2. No big difference in the gameplay. Everything looks quite familiar (except of the new graphics)
*Visitors visit the park with their family or friends. Just click on one visitor and you're able to find out about the other members of the group.
It looks like as if the majority of group-members wants to leave the park, the whole group will leave. (for example: 2 crying babies and one bored teenager and the whole family and their friends could leave...)
*The 1st person-view is impressive but it was a bit too fast (like the rollercoaster would run at 200km/h). It was not possible to ride any other rides than rollercoasters.
*I disabled the nightview since it was difficult to keep track of building anything at night. I used the nightview because of watching the beautiful light and shadow-features only. I didn't use it for the gameplay (too dark and too many shadows).
*The fireworks-engine didn't seem to work in this version. It was possible to add (two only) fireworks-effects but you couldn't watch it. The timeline seems to be quite complex.
*Although the park didn't have any entrance/exit new visitors were walking around as soon as i built some new paths or attractions.
*Rollercoaster-, water- or other attraction-designs weren't included yet. I had to build custom designs.
*There's an autocomplete-feature to finish rollercoasters. (just click on autocomplete and the game will suggest how your design could be finished.)
*All rides were unlocked in the sandbox-mode
*There's growing grass. (You can even enable/disable growing grass in the graphics-configuraton, but i didn't notice any difference)
* You can attach your MP3's to rides.
* The graphics-configuration lets you continuously adjust the alpha-channel of the rides, so you can look through them. (very useful). You can also enable/disable the most important graphical features like "reflections on water" or even "reflections on people". It really should be playable even on slower 3D-cards with disabling most of the special graphical features.
* There are about 40 features in the control-panel you can enable/disable. I guess that's for testing purposes and won't be included in the final version since it's VERY complex to find anything in this list.
* I suppose i was blind, but there was no icon for raising paths or queues in this version.
* I couldn't find the flyby-camera and the People editor but perhaps i just didn't find them.
