Er ging toch een film komen van DDVC?
Ja, zoals Verbal al eerder zei, van Ron Howard:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0382625/. De regisseur van o.a. A Beautiful Mind. Dit vond ik wel een leuke opinie van een IMDB user over de rol van Langdon:
quote:
POSSIBILITIES:
1) Aaron Eckhart - Perfect, since he fills in the same categories that Caviezel does. He sure can be a strong, passionate man, not obviously handsome, and somewhat mysterious. Good one!
2) Clive Owen - Sure he's British, but could be a good Langdon. As seen in "King Arthur", he could have that surprised look when everything falls into place.
3) Bruce Greenwood - It sure is time for people to start noticing him. Would be perfect, 'cause just like Caviezel and Eckhart, has a different beauty and can look both strong and frail at the same time.
4) Sean Bean - Known, but not that well-known internationally, has the same Caviezel, Eckhart, Greenwood kind of beauty and would sure do a hell of a job.
5) Dennis Quaid - In a "Frequency" way, he has all the character has to offer.
6) John Cusack - There's no need to say how good of an actor he is. He also has that mysterious aura and sure can be considered a more classical handsome man. Can be frail, strong, and in love with his work.
7) Sean Patrick Flanery - Forgetting about his TV characters, he could be a good option if presented in an older way. But I haven't seen that much of him to be sure about it.
TOO HANDSOME:
1) Johnny Depp - This man has already done everything in his life and Langdon would not be a challenge at all. He has all the acting characteristics to play him convincingly, but he's way too handsome and internationally known for that. Would do well if they got his French wife for Sophies character, though...
2) Tom Cruise - Many people probably had him in mind. With the "Collateral" movie coming up and showing him as a gray-head, more people would be convinced that he's Langdon. I just think he's way too handsome and well-known for such a character.
3) Viggo Mortensen, Brad Pitt - Too much of a distraction for female audiences. Langdon is supposed to be "enigmatic", as Dan Brown jokes, not a knock-out like that!
TOO SARCASTIC:
1) Kevin Spacey - Awesome actor, but his contant smirk would not fit the character. We would think he's always hiding something...
2) Robin Williams - Are you kidding me? Everybody laughs just looking at him! Of course he has had deeper characters, as in "Good Will Hunting", "One Hour Photo" and "The World According to Garp", but would not look mysterious enough, I believe...
TOO MAINSTREAM:
1) Val Kilmer - Great actor, could have some of his "Saint" character in it, but he's been in the audiences mind for too long. And some could have problems with his Jim Morrisson looks...
2) Sean Penn, Keanu Reeves, Kevin Bacon, James Spader, David Duchovny, George Clooney - Great actors, different beauty, could do wonders on screen, but have also been in the audiences mind for too long. Sure underrated, but maybe not "fresh" enough.
3) Russell Crowe - To "macho". Is there a softer side to Mr. Crowe? ;o)
TOO YOUNG:
1) Mark Ruffalo, Hugh Jackman, Eric Bana, Guy Pearce - Would be great... In 10 years!
2) Michael Vartan - Even though he's in his late 30's, he still looks like a late 20's Generation X thing... Besides, he's too "cute" for being a strong character.
TOO OLD:
1) Harrison Ford - Would be perfect... But 10 years ago!
2) Kevin Kline, Pierce Brosnan - Even though I really like their work, too old for this...
3) Jeff Bridges, Tom Hanks, David Straithern - Great, but not fitting Langdon's shoes.
4) Sam Neil, Tim Robbins - Even though they're not *that* old, could still look way too experienced. Langdon is supposed to have all this knowledge, but sure has a whole lot to learn.
MISCAST:
1) Philip Seymour Hoffman - I could see him as Teabing in 20 years or so... Or as the albino Silas, if stronger and in better shape...
2) Bradley Whitford - An Aringarosa for him...
3) Colin Firth - Maybe a Teabing, in 20 years. Too British to be an American professor.
4) Gerard Depardue - Even though Jean Reno is my first option for Bezu, the Bull, Depardue could be an option. But he could NEVER be Collet, since he's supposed to be younger and still struggling at his job. Olivie Martinez ("Unfaithful") is the young fresh French...
Toch lijkt Colin Firth me wel wat
