preview van de GVH2 dvd - zo te zien zit er gewoon nieuw materiaal in de One Vision docu! Dus niet gewoon dezelfde bullshit als op Magic Years 1

Ik ben op het moment bezig om Blue Rock (The Cross), Happiness? (Roger) en de nieuwe LP van Greatest Hits III te kopen (deze heeft een normale hoes, en geen pvc-hoes zoals de gelimiteerde persing uit 1999). Gaat weer een maand studiefinanciering

In principe zijn alle lp's na The Miracle relatief moeilijk aan te komen, je zult hiervoor toch naar de platenbeurs ofzo moeten, want vrijwel alle mensen die Innuendo en de daaropvolgende albums op vinyl kochten waren ws. fans - aangezien de cd-speler toen ingeburgerd begon te raken en de meeste mensen dus de cd's kochten.

Absoluut de moeite waard om te beluisteren - het hele ouvre van Valensia vind ik sowieso erg sterk. Maar er zijn hier een paar mensen die vinden dat ie iets te veel jat van Queen (hé Niek )

The only minus about this tribute is why did Valensia do Bowie´s classic song "All the young dudes" which Mott the Hoople had a huge hit with in the 70´s???, I know that Queen did a cover of that song together with Bowie but it´s still not a Queen song, I would have liked to hear Valensia do either "Brighton Rock" or "Ogre battle" instead.

And okay, I like Kip Wingers version of "I´m in love with my car" more on the Stone cold Queen tribute than this one but it´s only to do with that Winger is a favorite singer of mine ´coz Valensia really does a magnificent version also that sounds very close to Queen with the guitars and the harmony vocals.

The 2 songs that makes this album worth buying is first "Man from Manhattan" that Eddie Howell sang in 77 and Freddie Mercury produced it as well as played the piano and sang background vocals, Brian May was also a part of this short lived project but when Valensia plays-it sounds more Queen about it than Queen themselves, the other track is "Polar bear" that Brian May and Roger Taylor recorded in 69 under the name Smile together with singer Tim Staffel and this was the first mark of Queen, hearing this new version on this tribute can fool anyone that it´s a leftover from "Queen II", spooky soundalike.

Then ofcourse you can wonder if there´s any meaning of doing new versions of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We will rock you" since they are just as good as they can be with the original band, well Valensia doesn´t have to be ashamed doing them because they are performed with perfectionism and a helluva lotta Queen feeling to it.

You have to hear the Opera part on Bohemian Rhapsody to believe me,is he for real?!.....He´s gotta be Freddie´s lost cousin. Then the list just go on with "Liar", "Sheer heart attack", "Dear Friends", "Killer queen"... well you see that it´s the early Queen Valensia is handling here!

A MUST BUY FOR DIE HARD QUEEN FANS.

Valensia is a highly talented and respected artist from Holland who has released something like ten albums and an artist whom I have not had the pleasure of hearing up until now, but thanks to an introduction from my mate Andrew Paul, I contacted Valensia and he kindly arranged for a copy of his CD to be sent to me. And I'm so glad that he did because Valensia's "Queen Tribute" is a must have for any die hard Queen fanatic.

The songs are very well performed and their is allot of passion for Queen running though this album which is a high factor of this work which is very rare in tribute albums, which are normally just thrown together to make a few bucks, however, Valensia has taken ever care with the production sound etc which is of a very high quality, he has approached this work as it if were his own recording, so hats off form him for not just slamming together some half baked project, thus one of the reasons this tribute works on so many levels, and believe me, I've had the pleasure of reviewing at least four other Queen tributes in the past, this is also miles and miles better than the "Dragon Attack" tribute of some ten years ago, and the way this works is simply that you get the feeling that even the songs are classic Queen, Valensia performs them in such a way that there is a feeling of love and respect for Queen and not something that has been put together for financial reasons, Brian May really needs to talk with this guy, you look at the CD sleeve and the various pictures of Valensia, he looks good and would serve well as the new frontman for Queen, more importantly he can carry the songs like when the album gets underway with the excellent 'Sheer Heart Attack', a good version that Valensia performs really well, and like wise for 'Man From Manhattan'.

But it's the third track in which have all eyes firmly on Valensia. His breathtaking marvelous version of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' one of the toughest Queen songs to cover, is as priceless as the original itself, if you are not convinced that he is perfect for the job as the singer in Queen if they are to reform, then I really don't know who is, he is just so good and really if you close your eyes you'd swear the ghost of Freddie was in the background somewhere there giving Valensia perhaps a guardian angels touch such is the magical vibe recreated on this masterpiece. Valensia may want to take a shot at sending the song (or album) into the radio stations here in the UK, as I'm sure it would get lots of airplay, a magnificent version right down to the piano work, sung absolutely perfect.

The rest of the album is hugely enjoyable and we get some unusual choice cuts which most tributes have ignored like 'Polar Bear', 'Dear Friends', 'My Fairy King' as well as the usual versions of 'We Will Rock You', 'Killer Queen' through to ''I'm In Love With My Car', 'Liar' and one of my favorite Queen songs 'Love Of My Life', this recording is much better than Extreme's version. Also included is a very good recording of 'All The Young Dudes' originally written by David Bowie.

I would like to see Valensia have ago next at perhaps creating a Kate Bush tribute, he could pull it off and there hasn't been one yet. If your a Queen fan then this is a must have, and the same to anyone else, a great album indeed.

Ben ook fan van Queen. me vader is heeeeel erg fan en zo is t me eigenlijk met de paplepel ingegoten.
Kvind zelfs wel dat me pa iets van de Freddie ,van voor z`n ziekte, weg heeft

Dan kan je als Queen coverband ook wel Heroes van David Bowie of Imagine van Lennon gaan spelen

Ik denk dat ik toch maar even doorloop naar MediaMarkt...die hadden GVH1 toen ie net uit was ook al voor ¤ 10 minder.

scheelt toch 8 euro, met die mazzeltjes zoals vandaag zijn dat weer 2 platen

Hier bij de FRS in Venlo hebben ze 'm - ik ga 'm over een uurtje ophalen!!! Ik denk dat ik vannacht laat naar bed ga

Bij de Van Leest hadden ze 'm nog niet, hoewel zij over het algemeen de eerste zijn die dvd's e.d hebben....

Beeldkwaliteit vind ik persoonlijk erg goed, hoewel ik Radio Ga Ga er een beetje vreemd uit vind zien qua beeldformaat. Ook een paar andere video's zien er een beetje samengeperst uit, maar dat kan ook aan mijn tv liggen....

Commentaar van Roger is echt hilarisch!
