als ik max payne op start met alleen
sounds en eax aan dan doet ie het wel gewoon.
maar zodra ik multi channel audio aan doe doet hij het niet.
dan kom ik wel gewoon in het menu en als ik dan new game doe doet ie het ook nog maar dan komt dat strip verhaal en daarna blijft ie hangen en dan krijg ik soms een blue screen soms blijft het beeld gewoon zwart en soms reboot ie.
ik heb al andere drivers geprobeerd maar dat hielp niet.
hoort dit topic trouwens hier wel thuis?

In Nederland komt ie 24 oktober uit... heb je het boekje al goed doorgelezen die bij het spel in de doos zit?
Anders je geluidsdrivers nakijken.

zeg ik ja
staat er: disabling multi channel audio
maar dat wil ik juist aan hebben

Please be aware that Max Payne 2 requires a 100% DirectSound compatible soundcard. Integrated sound devices, or what is known as "onboard sound devices," do not meet this requirement, and we cannot guarantee that the game will work properly when you have one of these devices in your system.
We have tested Max Payne 2 extensively with most common sound cards and found out that updating the drivers will remove most of the problems. Below are additional recommendations on how to fix several audio problems with Max Payne 2.
1. UPDATE YOUR SOUND CARD DRIVERS.
Check with your computer or sound card manufacturer for updated drivers. Here´s a partial list: http://www.take2games.com/index.php?p=support_pc.
2. DISABLE MULTICHANNEL AUDIO SUPPORT.
This is available in the Startup menu "Options" window.
3. DISABLE EAX.
This is also available in the ""Options"" window.
4. LOWER YOUR HARDWARE ACCELERATION LEVEL TO "BASIC."
To do this, click "Start," then click on Control Panel. Double-click on "Sounds and Audio Devices" and select the Audio tab. Click the Advanced button under Sound Playback. Select Performance tab and set the Hardware Acceleration Slider to Basic (second lowest setting).
5. MAKE SURE YOUR SPEAKERS ARE PROPERLY CONFIGURED AND CONNECTED TO YOUR SOUND CARD.
Ensure that your speakers are configured correctly from the sound cards´ control panel or from Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Advanced under Speaker Settings. To set up your speakers, use your sound cards´ Control Panel or the Windows Control panel as follows: Click Start, then click Control Panel. Double-click on "Sounds and Audio Devices" and click Advanced button under Speaker Settings. Set these to match your speaker setup.
Here are some common sound-related problems, and fixes for each.
SOUNDS GET CUT OFF OR STUTTER:
1. Try to increase the amount of sound channels from the Max Payne 2 Options dialog.
2. Ensure you have sound hardware acceleration set to "Basic" or better.
SPEECH SOUNDS LIKE IT IS PLAYED TOO RAPIDLY OR MAX´S NARRATIVE IS HARDLY HEARD:
Uncheck "Multichannel Audio" in the Max Payne 2 Options dialog.
LOUD SOUND FEEDBACK IS HEARD:
Please disable EAX in the Max Payne 2 Options dialog.
NO SOUNDS CAN BE HEARD:
1. Check that your speakers are plugged in properly and your sound card works in other Windows applications.
2. Check that sounds are enabled from the Max Payne 2 Options dialog.
Creative Labs Sound Cards
Please update to the latest drivers for Sound Blaster Live! and Audigy series sound cards before playing Max Payne 2. These latest drivers fix many issues, for example with EAX and multichannel audio.

Unsupported Sound Cards:
Aureal Vortex 1 & 2 based sound cards such as Diamond MonsterSound MX300 or Turtle Beach Montego are unsupported. You may be able to run the game by going to Control Panel, then double-clicking on "Aureal Vortex Audio". On the first tab, there is a check box for disabling 3d hardware audio. Make sure that this box is checked. Also, see above for instructions on reducing hardware acceleration level to basic. Problems with these cards may show up as crashes in "au30wave/asp4ware", or generic system instability.
