Jason: There is a brief flash of an interior cave with what looks like to be Aragorn in the Paths of the Dead, but there also looks like there is a bit of a confrontation going on. I know there has been a lot of speculation as to weather Aragorn will have to fight the army of the dead in order to prove that he is the rightful King, but it is a very brief frame on screen, and it is hard to pause it in order to see it well.Groveman: Pause the trailer 4 seconds in for the Paths of the Dead. You see a shot of Aragorn/Legolas, and possibly Gimli surrounded by ghouls. The frame is instantaneous, I had to slide several times through the file before I could see it. That is gonna be FREAKY.
FanWithNoName: At the beginning of the trailer after Legolas is talking to aragorn about the enemy moving near we see a brief glimpse of what looks like orcs...they look like moria orcs, but after investigating it, I closed the blinds and shut off the light in my room, and played it in slow-mo and I found it is Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli with a white horse and brown horse (I've forgotten the names) in the Paths of the Dead! It was a very creepy looking shot and I thought I may have seen some of the dead in the shadows as well. It was an awesome shot!
Happy Little Hobbit Spy Drogo: At the beginning when they show a glimpse of the Paths of the Dead, it looks as though zombie like creatures are following behind and you can make out the shapes of Legolas, Gimli, and Aragorn (going left to right). On the left of Legolas is a horse with a soldier that looks to be in rags holding a lance. Ranger from the North? Dead Soldier? I am going with Dead soldier for the army behind Aragorn is very big and I doubt that the Rangers of the north will be in Return of the King for they have not much use in it except for more Armies since Elrond brings Narsil to Aragorn.

Peter Jackson to Present Rings Trilogy in New York
Source: Variety Thursday, October 2, 2003The Film Society of Lincoln Center and New Line Cinema in January will present a weekend-long event screening special extended editions of the first two films in Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, plus the upcoming final chapter, "The Return of the King," introduced by the director and cast. Running Jan. 10-11, the event marks the first time all three films will be shown together with the director in attendance.
Jackson, who co-wrote, directed and produced the trilogy, will introduce the Saturday screenings with members of the cast and participate in a Q&A following the night's final screening of "The Return."
On Sunday Film Society program director Richard Pena will host an extended conversation with Jackson, revisiting highlights of his career and exploring the "Rings" trilogy in depth.

Third 'Lord of the Rings' Film UnveiledEarly last evening I got to see about 20 minutes of "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King," Peter Jackson's third and final installment in his epic rendering of the Tolkien books.
As we could have predicted, the scenes a few of us had the pleasure of screening were top-notch, indicating that Jackson and the folks at New Line Cinema will go boldly into this year's Oscar race with every intention of winning.
And why not? "Return" looks amped for success. We saw about five completed sequences. A couple of them involved Frodo, Sam, and Gollum. Two others were impressive, expansive battle scenes. We got a look at Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortensen, Bernard Hill and Hugo Weaving as well as at Elijah Wood and Sean Astin in full regalia.
One thing that jumped off the screen right away: Howard Shore 's terrific score seems even better used in "Return." And Jackson has grown even more accomplished with his special effects and CGI.
One battle scene in particular, which starts with about 500 extras and then pulls back to an army of computer-generated thousands, will be quite stunning on the big screen.
Will "Return" finally earn this group some well-deserved Oscars? In all likelihood, Jackson is the front-runner for Best Director, certainly, a nod to the enormous achievement of these three films. And this year, maybe for the first time, Hill, Astin, and a couple of the other actors will be up for Best Supporting slots.
I'm told, by the way, there's a chance all three "Lord of the Rings" movies will play in theatres this January about a month after "Return" has its own debut. A special week like this is already in the planning stages for New York. It's a great idea. Count me in

Ook van Orcs is niets te zien rondom dat stukje van Legolas...
Overigens denk ik dat de trailer al heel veel weggeeft over hoe bepaalde dingen gevisualiseerd worden. Vooral over Galadriel's handreiking aan Frodo bij Shelob's cave in die droomachtige roes en Gollum's vuile glimlach naar Sam toe ben ik zeer tevreden. Heel subtiel gedaan allemaal!
