Once again thrown into the world of the supernatural, Captain Jack Sparrow finds out that he owes a blood debt to the legendary Davey Jones, Captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman. Ik denk niet dat ze dit keer te ver door gaan op de ghost effects.
In de eerste film deden ze dat ook niet om te laten zien hoe ver ze met de techniek waren.
Het is tenslotte de regiseur die bepaalt wat er gebeurd, niet de special effects mensen.
De regie zal overigens weer in handen zijn van: Gore Verbinski, dus dat zit wel goed.
Nu alleen hopen dat het script net zo goed is als het vorige, als dat het geval is, wordt het een keurig vervolg.

Walt Disney Pictures has given a first look at a picture of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest villain Davey Jones at the San Diego Comic-Con. The studio handed out the following poster, which shows the character played by Bill Nighy in the first of two upcoming sequels.
In the follow-up, due out July 7, 2006, Captain Jack (Johnny Depp) owes a blood debt to the legendary Davey Jones, ruler of the ocean depths and captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman. If Jack can't figure a crafty way out of this one, he'll be cursed to an afterlife of eternal servitude and damnation.
Bill Nighy previously stated that Jones is the villain and that the character will be created using special effects. "I am a very, very, very, very bad man and I am there to make people suffer in all new ways, in ways that you won't have seen before," he said. "I have a boat and I have a crew, and they are really evil buggers. I'm so computer generated that you might have trouble spotting me. You'll know it's me, but you might have to check the credits afterwards," he laughed.

Wat was Bootstrap ook alweer? Ik meen me te herinneren dat hij een piraat was samen met Jack, maar wat precies wat hij? Toen ik de film voor het eerst zag, dacht ik eigenlijk dat hij een vroegere kapitein van Jack was oid.

Director Gore Verbinski was out promoting his new Nicolas Cage dramedy "The Weather Man" when he revealed how his work on the two back-to-back "Pirates of the Caribbean" sequels are going to iF Magazine.
Things seem to moving rather strangely - "I'm a quarter of the way through the third one and three quarters of the way through the second one. It's madness. We're shooting scenes in the third movie without even knowing what the hell we're doing. We actually have a pretty good second script and the third script is still on the operating table. And we're in triage constantly, everyday. I don't recommend making two movies at once. I think that we're going to get there, but it's just madness. I think that the second movie is strong and clever and has a lot going on. The third movie we're still working on".
He has been getting advice - "I did talk to Peter Jackson about it and he said, 'Re-shoots'. We don't have time for re-shoots. We don't have the time. We actually have a story that's challenging and compelling and dangerous and he [Jack Sparrow] is still the character that gets to weave his way through that story and affect everyone else with his own agenda".
As for Keith Richards playing Jack's dad - "We're trying to work out his dates. We all want it to work, but it's his tour dates and his lawyers."
