It is rare that a movie manages to be better than or at least as good as the novel from which it was adapted, as books generally have deeper plots and characters, and the movie that emerges (condensed into easily viewable stories) are mere shadows of the actual story, stripped bare, essentially missing all (essential or otherwise) padding...
even een weggevertje:The abusive husband was pretty intense and the daughter played a good part in this movie as well. I wanted to know why she was so rude to her mother all of the time and i found out why. You have to see this movie to find out. The ending is a wonderful climax to the story that I really loved. I enjoyed everything about this movie and I would not change anything in it. I highly recommend this movie.

This was beyond a shadow of a doubt the best film I have ever seen!!! I think it should have swept the Oscars and is one of the most UNDERLY-RATED film ever made. This was best movie in my opinion and you can't be an action movie fan and never have seen this masterpiece of a thriller!!!!!!! There isn't that many excuses for not having seen this movie and if you haven't I strongly suggest you do as soon as possible!!!! The symbolism and ideology of this film are the makings of a genius and the acting is that of greatness. All in All I could go on for hours upon hours talking about this film but I make this brief. This was a true 5 star film with a 10/10 and a 20/20. So please do yourself a favor and make a mends to see this movie!!!

I loved this movie. It was over a little too soon for me. I saw somewhere that a critic had challenged the believability of a gang leader in Southside Chicago being white, but if they had cast a black actor(Samuel L. Jackson would have been good), someone would have screamed "stereotype!!!" Besides, is perfect for the role. His character knows that the protagonists are running scared in his element, and his taunting them adds to the intimidation and fear factor. steals this one. All in all, a great movie!

sorry, waardeloze film, zelf denis leary , die ik een ok acteur vind, vond ik slecht in deze film, misschien alleen cuba die iets redelijks neerzette...
. After 25 minutes of the show I had one and a half recording logs of homosexual suggestions and activities. There were other examples of unacceptable material, but none so thick as homosexuality. I apologize if you were expecting to see a complete review of , but there are some things I can stand, and some things I cannot stand -- this movie was "cannot." It was glorification of homosexualtiy, pure and simple. It may be illegal in Canada and other countries to speak out against homosexuality, but not in America. Not yet, at least. No...I am not a homophobe. I do not fear or hate the homosexual, I just hate homosexuality.My suggestion is...don't watch this movie.
